Wallingford Bookshop has an award nomination for the shop in the Independent Bookshop of the Year awards. Helen Longworth, who has owned and run the hugely popular bookshop in St Martin's Street for nearly four years, has supported the Village Hall at both our Lucy Worsley event in 2023 and the Ghost Story event last November where she was the judge. Well done to Helen and her team!

A Victorian Evening of Ghost Stories
The Gilbert Scott Hall, Dorchester on Thames, Oxfordshire, OX10 7HR

A competition, based on new ghost stories, based on where we live and surrounding areas.
Entries include submissions from local people and children from the village school.
Three distinct categories, divided into two sessions. A Junior, B Youthful and C Adults.
The competition will be judged by independent literary experts, Wallingford Book Shops, and finalists' submissions will be presented live by experienced actors and speakers.
Prizes will be awarded at the end of each of the performance groupings.
