I want to introduce you to our newest member of the Seven Drunken Nights and Christmas In Ireland family ‘Donal’ who has joined the team as our Head of Hospitality. Donal is from Dublin and from a large flock of a family and is delighted to be joining the team in September until then Donal will be travelling the world getting as much leisure time in. Written by Michael Considine while living far from home in America, the song tells the story of a dream returning to the village of Spancilhill in County Clare, seeing old friends, old flames, and the life he left behind.

But there’s heartbreak behind the beauty.

Considine would never make it home.

For so many Irish emigrants, “Spancil Hill” became more than a ballad… it became the sound of longing, memory, and home itself.
