All the runners that set off this morning at Pars Autem Filum are in for a real treat. That's zero runners BTW. Which is a real shame, cos we are having superb wind and proper miserable rain. You know the type of rain I mean....the proper stuff.....the rain that gets you wet (unlike all other types of rain that don't πŸ€”). You know what I mean - prime CTW running conditions.
Hey ho. Another time then eh

Sign up for Pars Autem Filum closed at midnight last night. Now that it is closed I can tell you all that the grand total of participants equals.......0.
So, none of you are gonna know exactly how long a piece of string is. I know.

Pars Autem Filum . We have a grand total of 0 entries atm. So, if you consider that entries close in 6 weeks from today, then at the rate they are being filled, you could probably wait for another 5 weeks and 6 days before YOU enter. I'd rather that you didn't wait that long. Obvs!

Facebook removed the post made about the new route for Pars Autem Filum. It contained a link to the route, but FB state the post " breached their Community Standards, was misleading, or encouraged people to visit and stay on a website".
Sooooooo, here is the post again without the link to the route:
The landowners for the original route of Pars Autem Filum were not very supportive in the slightest. So a rethink of the route occurred. So.........behold the new route. 3.64 miles and
816ft elevation. That is just under a mile shorter
with and additional 110ft elevation when compared with the original route. Bonus! Everything happens for a reason right!
PS: this bit wasn't in the original post......F*ck you Facebook .

Pars Autem Filum. I can tell you all this much......the runners will set off at 8am on the morning of Sat 23rd Nov. They will finish when I tell them the run is over. They will NOT know at any time prior to that when that will be. That in a nutshell is the premise of the run. ☺️

Given the very recent announcement by The Trail Events Company that they have gone in to insolvency proceedings, and coupled with the fact that this was hot on the heels of both Badger Trail Events and Keep Running Rural (aka White Star Running) ceasing to trade as well.......I feel it apt to update everyone on the state of affairs of Crooked Tracks Wiltshire
Crooked Tracks Wiltshire are still here and still trading. As many of you are already aware, I have put the company in to a state of hibernation, and this remains the case for now. This was primarily due to personal reasons.....but it has served as an unintentional invisible safety net that has protected the status of the company.
However, the landscape of the running world in relation to how people sign up, and when they sign up, and what they sign up to, has irrevocably changed.
So where exactly do we, CTW, go from here? Well, after great internal debate I have a new vision for us. A new format for events, a new way to enter, and a way to ensure the future for us. "Us" refers to the entire community of CTW.....the runners, the organisation, the supporters, and the volunteers. All of "us".
So without further ado.......Drum roll please........
πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯.......the answer to that is.......
MICRO ULTRA'S.
WTF is a Micro Ultra you gasp? Sounds like a contradiction in terms. An oxymoron even
Well.....it kind of is. I'll explain.
After putting on the social run 'Welcome To My House', I came to the realisation that putting on events in the way I had, and in the format that I had previously done, were no longer in my capabilities. For entirely personal reasons, and due to a complete change in every aspect of my personal circumstances.....I just can't do that anymore.
So what were the options that faced me then?
(1). Fold the company. Sell any event stock. Pack up and go home. Or......
(2). Do things differently.
I plumped for No 2. And in future will be putting on Social Runs only, with NO entry fees (just a donation entirely of the entrants own choosing), and a small numbers of spaces available for each event......ie: Micro Ultra's. Sagarmatha and A Run With No Witty Name should hopefully be able to continue under this new format......but atm I am unsure if BTFS can be (I haven't ironed all the kinks out yet). It also means that Welcome To My House can be a more permanent fixture too......and perhaps at least one other new event too!
Doing things this way ensures that CTW remain a viable option, that you still make memories with us. That we truly meet the criteria of "great NOT big".
I will provide fuller details as and when things start moving again. Furthermore, for those that have entered the previously cancelled Sagarmatha or BTFS will have options available to them once things are a bit more concrete.....and I will make contact with those people in due course.

Thank you for all of your support and patience in recent years......and thank you for reading all the way to the bottom of this post (it's been a Micro Ultra in itself!!). Cheers. Muchly. Neil

From the comments made by all the runners at Welcome To My House yesterday, it is obvious that the course is too flat and they didn't even notice the 1 or 2 small mounds that they had run up. Every time I spoke to any of the runners they bi***ed and moaned that the course is "too" flat. I got a bit fed up hearing the same whinge over and over again. "Where's some hills Neil", "Any chance of any elevation today Neil", "I think I saw a hill over there, can we maybe run up that today Neil". On and on and on they went. Honest. I kid you not. πŸ€”
So the idea was floated that Welcome To My House should be run again next year. Further more it was also discussed that it could include a Return Leg, ie: once you reach the finish...you then turn round and run the entire route back again in reverse. This would give a rough distance of 56 miles and an approx total elevation of 3ft. Should this take place I will try to ensure that there are also some proper gnarly brambles and oceans of stingy nettles on the route. My unreserved apologies to those from yesterday for my omission in regards to that this year. Cheers. Neil

Welcome To My House is done. Huge thank you to everyone that made it happen. I have had an absolute blast today!! Massive kudos to Denise Leslie for all her help and assistance....and for bringing along Bear and Masie too ( I do love puppy cuddles!!). A ginormous thanks to everyone that took part, cos without you actually electing to join in......then the run just can't happen.
