Kirkburton Village Archive will be taking over Denby Dale Pie Hall tomorrow afternoon for this year’s Heritage Open Day.

From 1pm to 4pm on Sunday 13 September 2026, you’ll be able to explore the archive’s exhibition, and chat to the people who have been researching and preserving the area’s history.

You certainly don’t need to be a serious local historian to enjoy it. If you’ve lived around here for years, have family connections to the area, recognise an old name or photograph, or are simply nosy about what our villages used to look like, there should be plenty to have a look through.

Bar 1788 will be open for refreshments too, so you can have a browse and stop for a drink while you’re here.

Come along and discover a little more about the stories sitting right on our doorstep.

Gypsy - The Soul of Fleetwood Mac - are back at Denby Dale Pie Hall on Saturday 26 September, and this one feels particularly special.

The Pie Hall is the venue where it all started for the band, so we’re very pleased to be welcoming them back for another night celebrating the music of Fleetwood Mac.

Expect the big songs, the harmonies and all the favourites from one of the most loved bands of all time, performed by a five-piece band who know this music inside out.

Doors at 7.30pm / Onstage at 8.30pm.

Head to the What's On page of our website for ticket info, or to The Soul of Fleetwood Mac page.

A little bit of spooky crochet is coming to The Pie Hall this October 👻

IMP-ossible Creations will be running three ghost crochet workshops, giving you the chance to make your own suitably seasonal creation.

👻 Tuesday 20 October
👻 Tuesday 27 October

Each workshop runs from 10am to 2pm and costs £15 per person, with all equipment provided. You’ll head home with your finished crocheted ghost at the end of the session.

The workshops are relaxed and friendly, and you don’t need to be an experienced crocheter to join in.

Spaces are limited, so if you fancy making something a little more ghostly this autumn, email [email protected] to book your place.

We're really looking forward to hosting the HD8 Life Business Exchange at The Pie Hall in just a fortnight's time, on Friday 25 September 2026 from 11am to 1pm.

The event will showcase some of the brilliant local businesses we have on our HD8 doorstep, and the aim is for people to discover something new. It's not a market, but it is an opportunity to pop in and perhaps discover something/somewhere new that you didn't know before.

For tickets and more info, head to the HD8 Life page, or email Erin at [email protected].

We're holding a Coffee & Cake Fundraiser for Alex Littlewood at Denby Dale Pie Hall on Saturday 10 October, from 10am to 2pm.

Alex is living with Stage 4 incurable ovarian cancer, and the fundraiser is being organised to help support her treatment and research, as well as give Alex and her daughter Tilly the chance to make more precious memories together.

There’ll be plenty of homemade cakes, buns and desserts, lots of coffee, and a raffle too. If you can bake, donations of cakes and sweet treats would be very gratefully received, and raffle prizes can be dropped off at The Pie Hall on the Friday from 1pm.

Cash is preferred on the day so that the money raised can be passed directly to Alex.

Come along for coffee and cake, bring a friend, buy a raffle ticket and help us raise as much as we can for Alex and her family 🥰
