The village hall in Kingsdown will be open from noon to 4pm this Saturday, the 12th September For the annual HERITAGE DAY, a day when many local venues open their doors.
Come and find out about the history of the hall, the village and Gertrude Ederle's connection to it.

The hall will be opening the doors for the Heritage Day on Saturday 12th September. We will have some of the hall's history on display along with old photos of the village on film, and will be collecting for Gertrude Ederle's charity, the National Deaf Children's Society, so please bring along your pennies! The film about her life, 'Young Woman and the Sea' is well worth a watch.
We will have tea and coffee on sale, along with home made scones and jam and savoury goodies. Please bring cash as we don't have a card machine to take payments at present! 😄

The results of the survey regarding the future of our village shop and post office will be presented at the village hall on Wednesday 5th August at 6pm. This will be followed by a Q and A session. Refreshments will be on sale to whet your whistles!
The showing of the Gertrude Ederle film is postponed until (hopefully) later in August.

The results of the village survey conducted by the Kingsdown Hub Steering Group will be presented in the village hall at 6pm on Wednesday 5th August. The Trustees will be selling refreshments before and afterwards. Please come along and ask questions.

Some VERY happy children and adults from the campsite who were desperate to find somewhere to watch England. Very well behaved and left the hall spotless. Thank you, it was a pleasure to help out!

We, the Trustees of the St John's Village Hall, would like to say a very big THANK YOU to Walmer Installations, who very kindly donated and fitted 5 new windows to the side of the hall. Without this community spirit we would have struggled to replace the very badly rotted windows.
