We have some famous people who have been associated with the hall in the past. We have found a memorial plaque to Admiral Sir Henry Pridham-Wippell KCB CVO, dated April 1952.
According to Wikipaedia, he died in Kingsdown on 2nd April 1952 aged 66.
Admiral Sir Henry Daniel Pridham-Wippell, KCB, CVO (12 August 1885 – 2 April 1952) was a Royal Navy officer who served in the First and Second World Wars.

Another person with a memorial plaque is John Carter-Jackson JP. Anyone know anything about him?

The first meeting of the trustees this week was a very long one!
We now have a long list of maintenance jobs to do and we're slowly making our way through the paperwork.
Happy days 😁

An important message from the Village Hall Committee........

Over the last 5 years, we have given everything we can to running the Village Hall. Unfortunately, due to increasing work and family commitments, we are no longer able to give the Village Hall the time and attention that it needs and deserves.......that the village deserves.

Therefore, at the AGM on March 18th , all three of us will be stepping down and opening the way for a new committee to take our place.

In order for the AGM and proceeding committee meetings to be quorate, the Village Hall requires the following trustees:
- Chair
- Treasurer
- Booking Secretary

Other roles that the Hall needs to be able to thrive is General Maintenance and Secretary (also a trustee). There should also be representation from all the key user groups as well to ensure the user groups' needs are met.

If there are no volunteers at the AGM, no committee will be appointed and, due to the terms, we will be forced to close the doors on the Hall until one is in place.

Please ask around the village for volunteers and if anyone has any questions, we are more than happy to chat through it all.

We have loved being a small part of this building's history and even though it has had its ups and downs over the years, it has been a real pleasure to serve the village.

Thank you!
