Things I Know To Be True is about love in many of its forms. At times comforting and supportive. At others suffocating and destructive. But always love. It is a beautiful play and you could be part of it here at Davenham Theatre.

Plot and cast. All ages are playing ages with some flexibility.

Fran and Bob are at the stage in life where they think things are starting to get easier. Their four children are grown up and moving on with their lives and they are looking forward to retirement and having more time to themselves. However life rarely goes to plan and they have to rethink everything they once thought to be true.

Bob: A 63-year-old retired auto-factory worker who was recently made redundant. He is the patriarch of the family and finds solace in his backyard rose garden.
Fran: A 57-year-old senior nurse and the matriarch. She is pragmatic, tough, and fiercely protective of her children.
Pip (34): The eldest daughter. An education bureaucrat who feels trapped by her marriage and motherhood.
Mark (32): An IT specialist hiding a deep personal secret regarding his gender identity and desire to transition.
Ben (28): Works in financial services. He is ambitious but makes reckless choices in pursuit of a wealthier life.
Rosie (19): The youngest daughter. Returning from a backpacking trip to Europe, she is young, idealistic, and trying to figure out her place in the world.
