New trail runs too! Owned by Earth Action North Devon, all profits go to charity Sunday 12th July 2026
If you only participate in one triathlon this year, let it be the Croyde Ocean Triathlon in North Devon - winner of 'Best Large Event in the South West' by Triathlon England. It is quite simply the most stunning location that you could ever wish for. The start and
finish line overlook Putsborough Beach, (a 3km sandy beach stretching up to Woolacombe) with views of Lundy Island in the distance. Choose your distance - The Stunning & Savage Olympic Distance Course OR The Still Stunning but Less Savage Sprint Distance Course...
1.5km/700m ocean swim along Putsborough Beach, in the Atlantic Ocean, marshalled by fully qualified lifeguards. Water quality is superb and it has a blue badge rating. Once out of the water there is a steep run back into transition. We time you on the steep run – will you be HERO OF THE HILL?
38km/18.5km road bike course: Starting above Putsborough Beach, the route winds its way towards the historic Pickwell Manor and up onto higher ground, heading towards West Down. Next we take you up to the A3123 where you may see Exmoor in the distance. We bring you back for blast along the 3123 towards Woolacombe, before taking you down through the picturesque village of Mortehoe after a VERY STEEP and SLOW decent you hit the beach and head through Woolacombe, back up out of Woolacombe towards home and more of our beautiful winding lanes. Stunning views, ups and downs, there is something to see at every turn and plenty of elevation to challenge all competitors.
12km/5.5km off road run. This is a fantastic run devised by local athletes to give you fabulous views of all three bays: Putsborough, Saunton and Croyde. 2km longer than a standard Olympic distance triathlon, it includes a beach run along the famous Croyde surfing beach and will encompass Baggy Point, before hugging the coastline and dropping back into Putsborough.
