Cromarty Arts Trust & Old Brewery Cromarty Arts Trust is a non profit making charitable organisation, promoting a diverse range of arts activity- visual, musical and cultural on the Black Isle.

Our goals are to promote and embrace the arts, education, environment, history of the Highlands, and the conservation of buildings of historical or architectural importance. We have a beautifully restored venue - the Stables - where we host performances, exhibitions, craft fairs, ceilidhs, theatre productions and films. It's a terrific place for a wedding too! Our office, based at 19 Bank Street,

also has 5 en-suite study rooms providing accommodation for students, artists, writers, researchers or anyone looking to find a retreat or holiday in the beautiful village of Cromarty.

The storm clouds are gathering over Cromarty Firth. This magical bay houses the old oil rigs ready to be repurposed.
At Nearby Nigg they are building the wind turbines for the wind farms out in the North Sea.

Here you can see the tugs coming in. No doubt a rig is being made great to be moved. It always changes at Cromarty Bay.
My watercolour captures an afternoon of anticipation

'The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever…Again’ The Highland Fling Edition 2026.

Cromarty, The Links, IV11 8XW. 12pm-1pm, Sunday 12th July 2026.

The Links is the green Space between the last bus stop in Cromarty and the Cinema, looking out to sea between The Sutors.

The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever is a global event in which people gather outside to wear red, dance to Kate Bush's epic song 'Wuthering Heights' to raise money for charity. And this year will be the second Highland Fling edition in Cromarty.

Everybody is welcome. Wear your floatiest red dress/red jeans/red dressing gown and Wuther along. We'll have a few practice dances beforehand, and then we all Wuther together for a finale.

This is a free event for everyone to turn up and dance. If you would like to donate to our event’s chosen charity, donations will be gratefully received for James Support Group: 'It's OK not to be OK.'
___
Last year, we made the local press, raised over £350 for charity and made a video of the dance which is on YouTube (search for Cromarty+Wuthering)

Time means something different to everyone. Memory, change, rhythm, landscape, history, seasons, moments.
Seven Takes on Time, a new exhibition from the Black Isle Collective is coming soon at An Talla Solais, Ullapool.

Featuring seven artists from across the Highlands, each bringing their own unique response to the theme of time. Representing Cromarty are Izzy, Alice and Rosie, joined by Becs from Resolis, Rachel from Fortrose, Anita from Strathpeffer and Kirstie from Beauly.

It is shaping up to be a powerful and varied exhibition, with seven distinct perspectives and creative voices exploring a theme that touches all of us.

If you're in Ullapool, do come along and experience how time can be seen, felt and interpreted through art.
