Little Britain Challenge Cup Construction and property sailing regatta The original wager for the single race was the price of a dinner.

Peter Thompson, Steve Green and Phil Davis, who were all consultants for the Little Britain Office Development on London Wall, did not know what they were starting in 1988. Today it is the biggest regatta in England after Skandia Cowes Week, and is easily the biggest European industry event. The success has been such, that 22 years later the event commands the highest level of charter fees for the

season and the Royal Ocean Racing Club has had to re-programme its events to take account of the gathering. Despite this, the founder’s objectives are still being met. It is a fun event for the construction industry, where it is the participation and not the winning that counts. It is the volunteer committee’s task to maintain these standards and ensure that it remains a premier event in both the yachting and construction industry calendars. There is little scope to make the event any bigger, but we can strive to make it better. This can only happen with the continuing support of the entrants and indeed the sponsors

At the same time as we are all having fun, we are also raising substantial sums of money for our chosen sailing charities.

We're excited to welcome the Little Britain Challenge Cup back to Cowes this September!⛵️

The property and construction industry’s annual sailing regatta, the Little Britain Challenge Cup , is a two-day, five-race series organised by volunteers from across the industry.

Dedicated to raising money for various sailing charities, the regatta returns to Cowes from 12-13 September. Come meet the race crews, enjoy pontoon parties, and soak up the festivities happening all around town.

This weekend is our big 40th anniversary celebrations! You can visit all three of our boats and meet our staff at Hermitage Community Moorings in London this Saturday and Sunday 10am - 4pm.

We have 40 prizes up for grabs in our Grand Draw, which will be drawn on Saturday night.
