A fantastic night at the cheque presentation evening with cheques being handed out to 6 local charities on behalf of the Telegraph Cup.
The charities we support this year:

Coffee Tots
Molly Ollys
The Eamonn Fallon Foundation
Coventry food bank- St John Fisher church.
Coventry City Missions
You Can Flourish

Great to join up with the Coventry charity football cup for the night and supporting all the charities they donated too as well.

Ian Cross

Ian was a very valued member of the Coventry Telegraph Cups Committee for many years. He first acted as the liaison officer between the committee and the Coventry Telegraph while he worked at the paper. He was instrumental in getting the firm to sponsor the medals each year and to provide publicity for the competition. After his retirement from the firm, he was the keeper of the cups awarded each year.

Ian became chairman of the competition and he would lead it through the difficult period of Covid and the change in the relationship with the paper as it moved its operations to Birmingham. In this time, he made sure that the competition was able to adapt to the change leading the committee with authority and flexibility. Nothing was ever too much for Ian and he was always on hand to offer wise and sensible advice.

He will be sadly missed by all on the committee and by the wider football community because he was a main force in making sure three main football competitions have continued and maintained their place in the football calendar for the area.

The committee wishes Karen and the family our heartfelt best wishes on the death of Ian who will be a very hard act to follow.
