Smarte Carte UK Ltd (formerly, Bagport) officially opened its new Baggage Services Desk at Bristol Airport on Thursday 6th June 2023. Smarte Carte have operated at BRS since 2008, where we have supported passengers with their baggage needs before check-in and after baggage reclaim with Luggage Trolley, Mail & Fly, Porter and Bag Wrapping Services.

We are now excited to add Lost Property, Luggage Storage, Bag Weigh, and luggage accessories for retail to our repertoire of services for BRS and its valued passengers.

Smarte Carte UK is part of the Smarte Carte Inc. the global leader in baggage trolley and airport service management with operations in over 110 airports across North America, Canada, Alaska, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Sweden and Norway.

We pride ourselves on providing outstanding levels of service, ensuring all passengers have a great experience. Deliveries to Germany via Express Next Day Service

Due to issues outside of our control, we are unfortunately unable to ship any items to Germany via our ‘Express Next Day Service’ from Monday 25th January 2021.

This is due to ongoing issues our courier provider is encountering with Customs in Germany. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they are received.

Customers are advised to either arrange collection of items from the our offices at the Airport, contact us directly for an alternative shipping proposal or arrange for their own courier to collect from our offices at the Airport. Contact details for both airports are below:

Passenger Terminal Expo 2019

At the end of March we exhibited at the Passenger Terminal Expo that took place at The Excel in London. We had a successful three days meeting many interesting people in the industry, exchanging news and ideas as well as explaining the many services we can provide to airports and airlines that help to enhance passenger experience. Our Bristol Manager, Jane Heinemans, recently attended an awards dinner hosted by Bristol Airport at Bristol Zoo. This event championed the ‘BRS Spirit’ and acknowledged the great work carried out by individuals and teams throughout the airport. Bagport are honoured that our hard working, dedicated manager was invited to attend this event and continue to strive for and promote excellence throughout the whole of our business and the services we provide to our customers. We are very happy to announce that bagport UK Ltd has successfully achieved and been accredited for ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems.

bagport has held numerous accreditations for several years including ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems. Over the past year we have committed ourselves to further improve on quality and to also look to improve beyond our service provision, although this remains a key focus for us.

With a strong vision to improve and adapt to change, we took a natural steer in the direction of looking at our environmental impact. Our strategy and policy goals were developed through a management review and it was agreed to strive forward and aim to achieve a vision of performance in Economic Success – through effective use of resources; Environmental Impact – through reducing our carbon footprint; and Social Responsibility – through respecting people.

Over this past 12 months we have learnt, adapted, overcome challenges and finally, on 31 August 2017, we are very proud to have succeeded in being accredited with ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management whilst also being re-accredited with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management.

bagport helps local and international charities by donating items that are unclaimed from its lost property management services. In 2016 a total of 141 boxes of perishable dry food items such as unopened chocolates, biscuits, cakes etc. and toiletries were donated to the Salvation Army and a total of 3,948 pairs of spectacles including prescription glasses, sun glasses, reading glasses etc. were donated to Vision Aid, an international charity dedicated to fighting poverty by transforming access to eye care in developing countries.
