🎪 HELP SAVE OUR VILLAGE FETE! 🎪
Our much-loved Weldon village fete needs you 💛
Without a committee, the fete on 31st August 2026 may not be able to go ahead this year — and we really don’t want to lose it!
We’re looking for volunteers to join the Fete Committee, including the key roles of:
✨ Chairperson – helps lead meetings, keep things moving, and be the main point of contact
✨ Secretary – keeps notes and actions, sends emails, and helps with organising dates and plans. (knowledge of Word and Excel required)
✨ Treasurer – looks after simple finances, budgets, and stall fees (knowledge Excel required)
✨ Committee Members – help with ideas, planning, stalls, social media posts publicity, and on-the-day support
What’s in it for you?
✔️ Be part of something fun and positive for the village
✔️ Meet new people and make a real difference locally
✔️ Build useful skills (organisation, teamwork, leadership, budgeting)
✔️ Looks great on a CV — especially for students, parents returning to work, or anyone wanting experience
✔️ It’s a few hours a month — many hands make light work!
Skills that help (but aren’t essential):
• Being organised
• Communicating with people
• Basic admin or money handling
• Having ideas (or just enthusiasm!)
• A willingness to muck in and help
You don’t need prior experience — just a bit of time and a love for our community 💚

AGM INVITE -27th Nov 6pm The Weldon Village Fete is one of our village’s best-loved traditions — but sadly, it’s under threat for next year unless we can find more volunteers to join the team.
We’re holding our Annual General Meeting (AGM)on 27th November, and this is your chance to get involved, have your say, and help keep this fantastic event alive!
We’re especially looking for people to help with:
✨ Organising stalls and fun activities
📣 Social media and promotions
💰 Treasurer duties (keeping track of the pennies)
Volunteering for the fete is a great way to:
💚 Meet new people and feel part of the community
🎉 Have a real say in shaping one of Weldon’s biggest events
🌟 Gain experience in organising, budgeting, or event planning (great for CVs too!)
☕ Enjoy plenty of laughs, teamwork, and village spirit along the way
If you’ve ever enjoyed the fete, please consider giving a little time to help make it happen again. Every role counts — and without new helpers, the fete can’t go ahead. Discuss with friends and join in together!

👏 Heartfelt Thanks to Our everyone who contributed to a successful Fete 2025 👏
A huge shout-out to the wonderful ladies who gave their time and energy on the day itself — Jane Yates, Sarah Page and Jane Clowery. 1200+ raffle tickets sold and folded 🌸
Phoebe and Eden for greeting our stall holders and activity providers:-)
👏 To The UKDJ Mark Risby for keeping the music and energy flowing.
👏 To Just Karen for the fantastic entertainment – and for stepping in last minute with those brilliant dinosaurs after an unforeseen cancellation! 🦖
👏 To the Guiding Stars Circus for their amazing workshops.
👏 To WATS for keeping us entertained.
👏 And of course, to the Air Cadets for their brilliant display and excellent marshalling throughout the day.
