No Tier Snooker

No Tier Snooker Meeting once a week at Congleton and Hazel Grove Snooker Clubs. The focus is on engaging in friendly banter, and connecting with other with the same condition.

A incredible snooker group bringing together individuals living with early onset dementia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD) offering them a place to connect, laugh and feel seen. No Tier Snooker provides a welcoming and supportive environment for individuals living with early-onset dementia or Frontotemporal Dementia. Meeting every Wednesday, the society offers a two-hour respite fostering camarad

erie and shared enjoyment. The founder of “No Tier Snooker Society” was diagnosed with Frontal Temporal Dementia (FTD). This unexpected change left him feeling directionless, as he realized others might share his sense of uncertainty after receiving a diagnosis that brings a shadow but no clear timeline. Despite not being a professional snooker player, the founder always found joy in the game. This passion inspired him to create "No Tier Snooker Society" which is a snooker club specifically designed for individuals with conditions like Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) or early-onset dementia, with a welcoming and supportive environment for players with these needs.

💙 Celebrating Volunteers' Week 💙

This Volunteers' Week (1–7 June), we'd like to say a huge thank you to all the incredible volunteers who give their time, energy and skills to support our community.

There are simply too many wonderful volunteers to mention individually. From community groups and charities to environmental projects, youth organisations, sports clubs, events and neighbourhood initiatives, volunteers are at the heart of what makes Congleton such a special place to live.

Earlier this year, many of these amazing people were recognised through the Town Mayor's Civic Awards. Behind every nomination was a powerful story of kindness, commitment and community spirit. It was an honour to celebrate these remarkable individuals and groups.

To every volunteer across Congleton — whether your contribution is large or small, visible or behind the scenes — thank you. Your commitment makes a real difference every day.

💙 Happy Volunteers' Week and thank you for everything you do.

Paul and Kyle are gearing up for an incredible challenge that goes beyond the game of snooker. On June 14th, at Congleton Town Hall, they will face off against legends Steve Davis and Dennis Taylor in a doubles frame. This event is not just about the thrill of the game; it’s about raising awareness and funds for No Tier Snooker, a community group dedicated to supporting those affected by early onset dementia and the mental health struggles that often accompany it.

No Tier Snooker offers a safe space where people can connect, share experiences, and find support through sport and friendship. Your donation will help provide welcoming sessions for those living with early onset dementia, support carers who often feel isolated, and raise awareness about this important cause.

Every contribution counts and will help Paul and Kyle make a meaningful impact. Let’s come together to support this vital initiative and make every shot count.

Thank you for considering a donation.

Paul and Kyle are taking on an unforgettable challenge — and they’re doing it for something far bigge… Kimberley Melvin needs your support for No Tier Snooker

It's Dementia Action Week 2026. At the start of this journey, we at No Tier were unaware of all the different types of dementia and the different ways it affects people's memory but often just communication and behaviour with nothing to do with memory loss at all. As part of this week Ian and I, (that's Cath Carter if you hadn't worked it out!) were honoured to be invited to a service at Christ Church, Eaton by John Stenton and Revd Jim Cartlidge. We were warmly welcomed and loved meeting everyone. Revd Jim's words were insightful and perceptive of the situation for those diagnosed and their loved ones and how everyone can improve the lives of others with simple care and kindness. Thank you for your support of No Tier Snooker 🙏.
