We are having a day out to Skipton Beer Festival & it’s nice to be on the other side of the bar as punters after a manic couple of weeks. No Lancashire beers, so its just a dark-side festival with local beers for local people 😂 (lovely friendly volunteers here as always though)

Thanks to everyone from our town for coming down and backing us again & supporting Ribble Valley Crossroads Care Thanks to all the followers of Drive, you made it a fantastic last night singing along and drinking us dry. Our favourite visitors have arrived again. Everyone loves coming to meet the two beautiful Thwaites Shire Horses and they are a reminder of Britain’s brewing heritage when all beers were delivered by dray to their local pubs. The schoolchildren love seeing them each year as well.

Tomorrow (14th May) marks one of the highlights of Clitheroe’s social calendar.
Yes, it’s the excellent Clitheroe Beer Festival. A fabulous three day celebration of beer and cider, at the Assembly Hall of St Michael and St John.
Over 70 cask and craft ales to choose from at this splendid town centre venue.
Here are six recommendations from the beer list:
1. Blind Beer Taster ESB(6%) Brewed specifically for the festival.
My fourth collaboration beer with Bowland Brewery. Tight, white creamy head and a dark amber presentation. Biscuit malt and fruity hop aroma. Well balanced flavours of caramel, biscuit/bready malt and tangy orange marmalade. Moderate fruity hop bitterness in the lingering, dry finish.
Enjoy…

2. Colbier Belgian West Coast IPA (7.7%)

3. Five Kingdoms Calm Before the Storm Stout (5%)

4. Mystery Fish Brewing Fish Face Pale Ale (6.4%)

5. Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby Mild(6%)

6. Brew York Rock E Road Star Stout(keg) 8.5%

*Now increased to a magnificent seven recommendations!
I will certainly be sampling the Thornbridge Brewery x Track Brewing Co. Collaboration American Brown Ale (5.6%). Brewed on the historic Burton Union Set, that was rescued and saved from Carlsberg/Marston’s Brewery.🙏🏻👏

Enjoy the festival. Cheers…🍻👍😀
