In case you were unaware, the Monday Club meeting due on March 16th has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. Monday Club talks cover a wide variety of subjects:
• The next MC meeting is March 30th were Sheila Woolf will give a talk on “Jane Austen’s Warwickshire family”
• April 13th local CSI expert Orlando Elmhirst presents "Digging up the Dirt on Suspects". Orlando will explain some of the basic methods used in forensic science then recount how he applied novel and standard forensic science techniques to a double missing-persons case that uncovered something more serious. Orlando spent decades assisting police forces and the Home Office, co-wrote the official “Scenes of Crime Handbook”, investigated fifty-two murders and has appeared in six television crime documentaries.
• April 27th Dr Kate Round, tour guide for Dudley Museum Service presents "Stourbridge Glass; history of the industry”. Dr Kate traces Stourbridge glassmakers back to the 8thC BC and innovations in glass decorating thereafter.

Monday Club meetings take place at the DM hall every fortnight commencing 2:30pm and consist of a talk by presenters from all walks of life followed by home-made cakes and beverages, all for just £4!! For further details, please ring 01926 842628.

Dorothea Mitchell Hall Trustees continue to look for volunteers and invite residents of Claverdon to an Open session at the DM hall on Saturday, 7th March 2026 between 10am and 12noon. Visitors will be able to view the facilities and meet the team to help decide if you can offer some time to help support activities at the Hall which include regular classes, private hire and professional plays.

Dorothea Mitchell Hall News

We continue to look for volunteers and invite Claverdon residents to an Open session at the DM hall on Saturday, 7th March 2026 between 10am and 12noon. Visitors will be able to view the facilities and meet the Trustees to decide if you can offer some of your time to help continue to support the activities at the Hall including regular classes, private hire for family events and professional plays. Talking of plays, we thank everyone who attended the ‘Sleeping Beauty’ pantomime on December 30th. The show was so successful Aunty Jen Productions will return with ‘Aladdin’ on December 22nd 2026. We also have another theatre group performing Educating Rita in March 2026 – look out for details on their poster.

MEETING CANCELLATION:
Due to the dangerous weather conditions, Shirley Reading has decided to cancel the Monday Club AGM and Quiz scheduled for this Monday, 5th January 2026.
Hopefully, the weather will be better for the next Monday Club meeting on 19th January 2026 commencing 2:30pm when Shirley will be presenting "Historic Highlights along the River Dene from Burton Dassett to Charlecote" as well as covering AGM matters.

Soul Spring Yoga is a new weekly offering of inclusive, nourishing and energising yoga classes. Led by Amy, a Yoga Teacher and Women's Health Physiotherapist. Her classes are designed to help you reconnect with yourself through breath, movement and the teachings of yoga. Amy's classes are designed to move through a series of flowing postures that aim to build strength, balance, focus, release tension and cultivate a sense of calm and relaxation.
