Another engine that made the 12 miles Pilgrimage to us this year was the famous Mclaren Captain Scott, seen here towing another one of the loads, this time its a 1929 Ruston Bucyrus Nº 4 excavator.

What a whirlwind 10 days!

As they say, Leave nothing but footprints 👣

That’s us off the rally field now. 10 days ago we started setting up and tonight we get to relax.

Burnt out is an understatement!

Our biggest and best rally yet, we had unbelievable weather, more exhibitors, more traders and more visitors than ever before. Our improved heavy haulage playpen was one of the highlights of the weekend, made possible by Brian Kell who, with the use of his heavy haulage trailers and loads, has allowed us to put on some epic displays of steam power. Thank you Brian!

David Riches and Bex Hargreaves were non stop all weekend, looking after the steam section, sorting coal, water and trailers from dusk til dawn. A top effort, thank you!

Kev Scott and Chris Twedell, their first time running the motorcycle group for us. They did a fantastic job, especially the stewarding of the bikes for a few laps of the playpen each morning. A great idea! Thank you, both of you.

Adam and Charlotte Hardy brought together another wonderful and varied selection of tractors, a few of which were brave enough to push their limits in front of some heavy trailers in the playpen. Well done and thank you to you both!

Jeff Hall and Jen Pharaoh, who seem to pull off a magic act every year, putting together one of the biggest selections of stationary engines in the north of England with military precision! (We are still looking for that lost pin Jeff 🫣) Thank you both.

Our new classic car steward, James Wray-brayshaw took everything in his stride and hit a home run with his car section. Expertly presented and organised, thank you James!

A last minute substitution in the miniature steam section, meant that Ken Rogers was called into action to look after the section. Bread and butter for Ken, who has looked after miniatures at rally’s for years, he could do it in his sleep! Thank you for stepping in Ken!

A huge congratulations to Amy and Martin Gell who welcomed baby Edward into the family this weekend. We can’t wait to meet him at his first rally.

David Rowell continues to impress with his beautifully organised and growing commercials section. Thank you again Davy.

The classic caravan line up, always a highlight and well administered by Arnie Sneddon. Thanks Arnie!

Samantha and Vicky who miss the show every year to make sure everyone gets a warm welcome in the entrance tent. Thank you both once again.

The M**s, who keep the pans hot, the kettle boiling and the sandwiches flowing. And of course the Dads who get ordered around all week running backwards and forwards with machines, tractors and forklifts. Making sure everything is where it needs to be. Thank you all .

Mp Plant Training LTD is a long time sponsor and supporter of our event and we are so grateful for your help. Thank you Mark Patterson.

We had over 600 individual exhibits on the field this weekend and the show wouldn’t be possible without all of you. It means so much that you chose to spend your time with us and we thank you for travelling from as far south as Cornwall and as north as Aberdeen to support us. Thank you so much.

Last but certainly not least we want to say thank you to everyone who came and visited the rally over the weekend. We hope everyone had a great time and we’d love to welcome you back next year.
