It’s Volunteers’ Week in the UK (Monday 1st - Sunday 7th June)

A HUGE thank you to everyone who volunteers at Cheltenham parkrun: you help keep parkrun free, for everyone, forever.

So many participants tell us how much the support of every volunteer they meet has a positive impact on their experience. Your encouragement and support are what give people confidence to give it a go - and the real desire to stay as part of our fabulous parkrun family.

We also know how much pleasure participating as a volunteer brings and what a positive impact it has on well-being.

There are lots of opportunities and great support ... read on to find out how to sign up.

Another beautiful sunny (and hot) morning for Cheltenham parkrun #626 with 807 runners/joggers/walkers taking part - well done all!

Being the last Saturday of the month, 5k Your Way joined us, as did a group 'graduating' their Couch to 5k course.

We welcomed several tourists including one all the way from Sydney, as well as some first timers.

Congratulations to

*Eve - 100th parkrun
*Charlie and Joyce volunteering for 10th time
*Susan for volunteering for the 25th time

Huge thanks to all our wonderful volunteers today, without you we can't make parkrun happen.

Hi Cheltenham parkrun family. Thank you for responding so generously to fill all the marshal posts.

As always, we'd be grateful for extra bar code scanners after your run to help ease the queues.

😎 What a scorcher for Cheltenham parkrun event #625!
44 volunteers supported 717 participants to complete their 5km in dazzling sunshine.

We welcomed 33 people to their first ever parkrun and were visited by tourists including from Lake Como, Italy and Australia.

Congratulations to Rianna and Christine hitting their 25th volunteer milestones today.
We also celebrated Terry's 50th T-Rex parkrun, Eleanor's birthday and Hollie's hen party.

Thank you to all of our volunteers who made today's event happen; you are hugely appreciated.

To volunteer, ask for photos to be removed or tell us your up-coming milestones it's [email protected].
You can find the future roster here and we'd love you to be part of it: https://www.parkrun.org.uk/cheltenham/futureroster/

44 wonderful volunteers turned an empty park into Cheltenham parkrun event #624: thank you all.

Well done to our 704 participants, including tourists from Glasgow, Cambridge, Newcastle, Cardiff and New Zealand.

Special congratulations to Spencer, celebrating his 50th parkrun - with double buggy 🎊

It was nice to see Ollie and Casper again, marking the anniversary of their 30 mile 'parkrun plus' fundraiser run for Bone Cancer Research in memory of their friend Ellison.

We hope everyone who joined us had a really great start to the day.

To volunteer, to let us us know your upcoming milestones or to ask for any images removing, email us at [email protected]

Calling all members of our Cheltenham parkrun family.

Please take a look at our future roster to choose a date that you could be part of our fabulous volunteer team: https://www.parkrun.org.uk/cheltenham/futureroster/
We particularly need over 18s for marshal points on our summer course. If you help with pre-event set up or close down you can still run on the day. E-mail us your dates on [email protected]

Thank you to those who stepped up to fill this week's roster (still space for a car park marshal and extra hands on set up / close down which are all roles you can do and still parkrun.) ❤️

If you aren't already signed up to receive volunteer emails, please opt in via your parkrun profile (or the link in your results email)

A huge thank you to 10 of our Cheltenham parkrunners (Mitch, Helen, Simon, Stephen, Toby, Steph, Garry, Chris H, Chris G and Paul) who volunteered to help us collaborate with the Council’s Green Space team, Friends of Pittville and Pittville Swans and Friends to reinforce the path on top of the bund behind the Leisure Centre. This will prevent the bund getting muddy when we use it for our finish funnel in the wetter months. Please can our parkrunners stay off the matting for the next 4 weeks until we start to use the bund again.

Another beautiful, sunny morning for Cheltenham parkrun #622 where 830 participants ran, jogged or walked around our course.

Today was pacer week with volunteers pacing from 20 minutes to 38 minutes.

It was great to have a group of ladies running with a bride-to-be for her hen party, dressed in black and white and wearing a mask of the groom – you left many of us wondering who the mask was before we asked you – enjoy the rest of your day.

Congratulations to
Dee for reaching your 100th volunteer credit
Gemma for running your 250th parkrun

To our 37 first timers – welcome to the parkrun family – we look forward to seeing you again next week.

Welcome to all our tourists today, the visitors who had travelled the furthest this week were from South Africa.

Huge thanks to all our wonderful volunteers, 65 of you in total today!

To volunteer or to tell us about your upcoming milestones, please email us on [email protected].

Calling all Cheltenham parkrunners – can you help us to help the Parks Department spread the three bags of soil you will have seen at our finish area to sow more grass seed.

When: Tuesday 5th May 2026 at 9am

Where: At our finish area at the back of the Leisure Centre.

Some of our core team have already volunteered, but we need more help. There will be lots of to’ing and fro’ing with wheelbarrows – if you are able to help and have a wheelbarrow, it would be really helpful if you could bring this too! Gloves and spades provided!

As you all know, we work closely with the Parks Department to help keep our park looking beautiful and well cared for and would really appreciate your help with this.

Please either comment below, email us on [email protected] or speak to one of us tomorrow in the park
