๐๏ธโญ Our Artist Focus series meets this week as we shine the spotlight on one of the true greats... Mr Dean Martin! โญ๐๏ธ
We always enjoy performing Deano's songs in our show. Not only did he have one of the most recognisable voices in music, but he was also naturally funny and a fantastic entertainer.
๐บ The Dean Martin Show was a huge success, running for 9 seasons between 1965 and 1974. It also helped make the "Celebrity Roast" famous, with stars being affectionately poked fun at by a panel of fellow celebrities. Over the years, guests included Frank Sinatra, Muhammad Ali, Jimmy Stewart and even Ronald Reagan! ๐
๐ค Here's this week's trivia fact: although most people know Dean for his classic pop hits, he also enjoyed success in country music and was named Academy of Country Music 'Man of the Year' in 1967. Not bad for a man best known for songs like That's Amore and Everybody Loves Somebody!
๐ต In our opinion, nobody quite delivers a song like Deano. His relaxed style, effortless phrasing and unmistakable tone influenced generations of singers, including Michael Bublรฉ.
Some of the Dean Martin favourites we've performed over the years include:
๐ถ Sway
๐ถ You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You
๐ถ Everybody Loves Somebody
๐ถ On The Street Where You Live
๐ถ Ain't That A Kick In The Head
๐ We'd love to know...
What's your favourite Dean Martin song? And which one would you like to hear us perform next?
