Mid Ulster Show Jumpers

Mid Ulster Show Jumpers Mid Ulster show jumpers provides gymkhanas and pony games for all levels and ages from the surrounding areas. This is followed by three open classes.

All shows provide three rings (Horse, Pony & Beginners) in operation, including practices areas. The horse ring starts with the warm up, then two novice classes, where the second round is allowed regardless of faults. All clear rounds compete against the clock. The pony ring starts with the fledglings, where everyones a winner. This is followed by the warm up and then novice and open classes for ponies upto 12-2, 13-2 then 14-2. The pony ring uses safety cups and new jumps. This provides great learning experience for ponies and riders alike, but is keenly contested. The beginners ring has the pony games (ponies to be lead), and beginners jumping (ponies to be lead). The beginners ring is under the charge of Isabel Mawhinney and provides a great opportunity for lead rein and young riders to develop skills and have fun. The charity show on the 7th May also has a showing ring with classes for tiny tots lead rein, first ridden, family pony and horse under saddle. The Perpetual Trophy Gymkhana on the September 10th also has a showing ring with classes for tiny tots lead rein, first ridden, family pony and horse under saddle.

Another fabulous day at Tamniarn Charity Gymkhana! A heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended, sponsored classes and donated money! Without our judges, Evelyn Brown and Sam McMaster the day could not have taken place. To Roberta and Lesley Ann who added structure to the much loved, enjoyed and manic pony games. To John who came out of retirement to help with the fences and Connor who has no chance of retiring! To all who assisted with the arena preparation including Tamzin and Debbie and for every other job in between Ciara! Once again Jonjo Bright and family of Lylehill Farm donated a meat box for us to raffle, their exceptional quality home reared beef and lamb was a huge success with the incredibly lucky Liz, winning it …again! At this stage we have raised almost a thousand pounds to be divided between Castlehill residents entertainment fund and Marie Curie, anyone wishing to donate can still do via [email protected] apologies if I have missed anyone! Thank you all, The Nicholl and Carson families ❤️
