Mid Ulster Show Jumpers

Mid Ulster Show Jumpers Mid Ulster show jumpers provides gymkhanas and pony games for all levels and ages from the surrounding areas. This is followed by three open classes.

All shows provide three rings (Horse, Pony & Beginners) in operation, including practices areas. The horse ring starts with the warm up, then two novice classes, where the second round is allowed regardless of faults. All clear rounds compete against the clock. The pony ring starts with the fledglings, where everyones a winner. This is followed by the warm up and then novice and open classes for p

onies upto 12-2, 13-2 then 14-2. The pony ring uses safety cups and new jumps. This provides great learning experience for ponies and riders alike, but is keenly contested. The beginners ring has the pony games (ponies to be lead), and beginners jumping (ponies to be lead). The beginners ring is under the charge of Isabel Mawhinney and provides a great opportunity for lead rein and young riders to develop skills and have fun. The charity show on the 7th May also has a showing ring with classes for tiny tots lead rein, first ridden, family pony and horse under saddle. The Perpetual Trophy Gymkhana on the September 10th also has a showing ring with classes for tiny tots lead rein, first ridden, family pony and horse under saddle.

Just a little update about Tamniarn gymkhana, the weather was perfect and we were rewarded with a great turnout. The smiles said it all with the trophies and cups that were presented. Proceeds for the day are as usual divided between Marie Curie and Castlehill Residential home entertainment fund. Once again Lylehill farm very kindly donated a meat box to the value of £100 to be raffled which boosted our takings fantastically! Overall we have one thousand pounds raised so far to divide between the two deserving causes. Many many thanks to all our supporters competitors and friends who without their continued backing we would not be able to continue. Hope to see you all back again on the last Saturday in June next year! Well done all !! Dorothy
