The LCD team have been busy in the background organising Scarefest 2026!
Theme: TV & Film
Trail Dates: 29th-31st October 2026
All entries must be submitted onto the google form by 18th October to ensure you’re entry is on the map (please scan the QR code to enter)
We have an anonymous panel of judges who will be going round to view your creations and decide on the winners. There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes available for houses that enter and we’re also inviting the traders of Castle Donington to take part too where one will be chosen as the winner.

We cannot wait for this event and to see those fantastic creations around our village.

Love Castle Donington are pleased to announce that we’re bringing back a scarecrow trail to our village! Welcome to Scarefest 2026!

One of our awesome community members used to organise the trail, but with its popularity, it became too big for one person to manage. So this year, LCD have taken it on and are organising it.

We’re incredibly excited, given we have a few Halloween fanatics in the house, and cannot wait to see the amazing creations our community bring.

The trail will run from 29th – 31st October, and we have an anonymous panel of judges who will be going round to view your creations and decide on the winners.

All entries must be submitted onto the google form by 18th October to ensure you’re entry is on the map.

The enthusiasm we’ve seen over the last years has been epic and we can’t wait to see what you create.

Go as big or small as you like. Keep an eye out on our socials for updates and maps links nearer the time.

Great day, running our annual community coach trip to Lincoln. The weather was kind, only raining at the end of the afternoon.

A big thank you to our coach driver Mick from Paul S Winston. Not only a safe pair of hands, but a vast knowledge of the sights along the route.

Spaces are available with 1st Castle Donington Rainbows on a Monday evening from 5:45pm-7pm! Rainbows welcomes all girls from 4 to 7 years old for play, learning and tons of fun in a colourful, safe space. Come and join the fun with us in September!
