The hall is clean, the grass is cut, and we've even ordered sunshine 🌞.
Perfect for this weekends wedding.

Don't hesitate to get in touch if this is the perfect venue for you. We are happy to give free viewings.
Once you see the hall and the overlooking castle with its great photo opportunities, we dont think you'll be disappointed. All for exceptional value too!

It’s been a busy year so far at the Village Hall and we're only just into May! Not only has a new online booking system been instigated
www.hallbookingonline/castleacre but the electrical system in the hall has been totally overhauled with new lights, switches, fuse boxes and circuits. There’s also a new storage unit in the garden for the outdoor furniture and equipment.

The next major project for the volunteers on the Village Hall Committee is roof repairs. The hipped roof at the east end of the building is in a dire state. A survey has revealed eight places where water is coming in creating rotting timbers, there’s evidence of insect infestation, there is absolutely no insulation in the roof void and tiles are deteriorated and slipping. Most of this roof dates to the 1950s with some repair work in the 1980s. On the west end gable, the stone parapet wall was once repaired with concrete which is now failing, causing problems with leaks and tree growth. The roof repairs are going to be costly. We’re applying for a grant, but matching funds need to be provided by the hall. We’re embracing modern media and have set up a JustGiving page for anyone who would like to make a donation (even a very small one will help!). On Wednesday 24th June 2026, 5pm, the Village Hall will be holding its Annual General Meeting. Do join us to meet the committee, check on progress, offer your help or just pop in to say ‘hello’. A friendly reminder 👇
Our carpark is small so if you park on Pyes Lane when using the hall, then please do so carefully. We want to be considerate of the houses at the bottom of the lane. The other day, a resident had trouble getting through because of poor parking. It's important to think about emergency services needing access too. We know that living in a busy tourist village means it's not always hall users, but we want to make everyone aware.

Thanks for your understanding.

With the new container shed en route, Daniel completed the 3m x 2m concrete base on this beautiful spring morning.
Though no grand treasures surfaced, he did unearth a solitary marble, igniting thoughts of its origins. Did it slip from a pocket long ago, or perhaps find its way here during children's games? It could of course originate from the preschool that occupied this spot until 2008.

The new container shed promises to be beneficial, offering a tidy home for garden furniture, parking cones, and more, ensuring our garden and parking areas remain uncluttered.
Watch this space!

Thanks Daniel for doing a great job 👍

Did you guess what our story was about? No it wasn't a barbecue 🫢

We got a new piano today, thanks to the generosity of villager, Thea Morris! She not only donated it but is also paying to have it tuned. It's a huge upgrade from our old piano, which was getting a little worn out. We know everyone will love having it in the hall for many years to come!

Today, our village hall got a bit of an eco-upgrade! We replaced the old, tired, and incomplete suspended ceiling in the stairwell and by the garden door with a new, more environmentally friendly one. Given our recently installed heaters, we wanted to make sure we weren't losing heat through the roof. Now, with all the holes gone and a thick layer of insulation above, we're much better insulated. Plus, we installed new LED lights at the same time. It's another great improvement to our village hall, all thanks to our amazing committee!

Thanks must go to Guy Powley for his work replacing the ceiling & Redroc Group LTD for the electrics.

🎉This afternoon was Party Time 🎉

Check out this amazing setup.
Our hall was transformed into a fun-filled wonderland, perfect for parties and events. There was a fantastic bouncy castle, a colourful bowling game, and plenty of space for everyone to play. This is a great example of how adaptable our space is, ideal for children's parties and family gatherings.
