🐂 What a result for Steve and Rusty!

Rusty, the steel bull created by Steve Nesbitt, past President of the British Charolais Cattle Society, sold for an incredible 27,000 guineas at Stirling today! 🔨

Following a fantastic summer touring the UK show circuit, Rusty has now raised £40,000 for charity, split between the British Heart Foundation and MND.

A huge well done to Steve for building this masterpiece, generously donating it and dedicating so much time to taking Rusty around the country to raise even more. It’s no small feat, and that commitment and generosity speak volumes about Steve’s character.

Huge congratulations to everyone involved, and thank you to the generous buyers and everyone who supported Rusty along the way! 👏

💚 World Mental Health Day | 10 October 💚

Today, Cumberland Show is thinking of everyone in our farming and rural communities who may be finding things difficult.

Rural life can be rewarding, but it can also feel lonely and overwhelming. Financial pressures, long hours, uncertainty and the demands of everyday life can take their toll. If you’re struggling, please know that you don’t have to cope on your own. Reaching out is not a weakness ’s a brave and important first step. 🌱

If you’re having a difficult time, or you’re worried about someone you care about, support is available:

🐑 RABI
Practical, financial and emotional support for people working in farming and agriculture.
📞 0800 188 4444

🚜The Farming Community Network's Cumbria Group
A friendly, confidential listening service for farming families and rural communities.
📞 03000 111 999

💚 Samaritans
Someone is available to listen, day or night, whenever you need to talk.
📞 116 123 — free to call

You don’t need to have the right words or wait until things feel unbearable. A phone call, message or quiet conversation can be a good place to start. If someone asks how you are, try to be honest and if you’re concerned about someone else, keep checking in.

Today, please take a moment to look after yourself and reach out to someone who may be struggling. You are valued, you are not alone, and support is available. 💚

It’s okay not to be okay. It’s okay to talk, and it’s okay to ask for help.
