Ah well, now that I’ve almost put the October 2023 Carlisle Blues/Rock Festival to bed (all that remains is to pay off the PRS and tax bloodsuckers) it seems like a good time to thank EVERYONE who helped make it as successful as it ended up being.

It’s been a absolute pleasure to meet and work with all the top class, even world class, musicians. Special shout out to those who played on several occasions (who know who you are) and to those who travelled from USA and Europe to take part (again you know who you are.

Sadly a number of the artists are no longer with us but thoughts are still with those guys - sleep easy my friends.

Thank you to everyone in the audience who supported the project, some have been there almost as long as me! (You know who you are too)

Lastly a huge thanks to everyone behind the scenes who came together on each festival weekend and helped make it all work so well. Such an amazing bunch of happy, smiley, super-efficient people.

BUT….the show will go on. The festival will be back next year just the same….but under different management.

Much sad news

On behalf of his family, it is with deep sadness we announce the death of Bernie Marsden. Bernie died peacefully on Thursday evening with his wife, Fran, and daughters, Charlotte and Olivia, by his side.

Bernie never lost his passion for music, writing and recording new songs until the end.
