Join us for feature film 'Orlando: My Political Biography' (2023) France. Directed by Paul B. Preciado

After this extraordinary documentary which explores 23 people’s transitions through the lens of Virginia Woolf’s novel Orlando, there is a post-film discussion regarding the significance of the book and the character for the Trans+ community. What does Orlando mean to you? Come along and join in the discussion.

With special guest Oliver Wickham who played Orlando on the London stage. It’s going to be fascinating.

Join us at 6.30pm on Saturday 31st January in the Theatre at Atrium, University Of South Wales, Cardiff for this lovely concert. We have Songbirds - Cardiff’s LGBTQ Women, Trans & Non-Binary Choir joining forces with Cardiff Trans Singers and it’s going to absolutely lovely! Join us at out new festival 'TransDiff' on Sunday 1st February 2026 at Atrium, University of South Wales, Cardiff. We have an opening ceremony with guest speakers in the foyer with FREE slice of our specially made TransDiff cake - or a specially made vegan, gluten-free cupcakes with trans swirls!

Then, our first programme of the day 'This is Me' is playing in the cinema. This is a selection of shorts exploring non-binary and transmasculine identities.

There will be a Q&A afterwards with representatives of those films in the programme made by local filmmakers. And lots of opportunity for the audience to ask questions and discuss.

TransDiff is curated by trans film students at USW. The festival is open to the public.

Join us for 'ORLANDO & ME' where we shall watch the fascinating and joyous film 'Orlando: My Political Biography' in which 23 trans folk express and explore their transition with reference to 'Orlando' by Virginia Woolf. Then afterwards, we shall be discussing what Orlando means to the Trans, Intersex, Non-Binary+ communities with special guests Roz Kaveney (veteran activist, journalist and writer) and Oliver Wickham (actor, who played Orlando on stage).

This will be a unique and fascinating event with lots of opportunity for discussion!
