Concerts at the Crossroads

Concerts at the Crossroads “Concerts at the Crossroads” - regular lunchtime recitals at Beulah United Reformed Church Rhiwbina, Cardiff featuring the finest of Welsh musical talent.

Last Wednesday of every month @ 1pm. Tickets £8 on the door. Students & under 16s - free entry. Beulah URC in Rhiwbina, is a small Victorian chapel with a near perfect accoustic for classical music. Monthly lunchtime recitals run throughout the year from September to June on the last Wednesday of the month. There is an annual major evening concert. We mostly give performing opportunities to young

professionals at the beginning of their careers or alternately more mature musicians wishing to “try out” something new. Over the last eight years since this series started running, it has become an important part of Cardiff musical life. Performers to date include, Elizabeth Atherton, Elin Manahan Thomas, Fflur Wyn, Gary Griffiths, Cerys Jones and the Heath Quartet, Rhys Watkins, Steffan Morris, Hannah Stone, Catrin Finch. The list also includes the pianists Michael Pollock, Caradog Williams, Jeffrey Howard and Nicola Rose.

We are so blessed to have the kindest and most dedicated team of stewards and volunteers at Concerts at the Crossroads, without whom the concerts wouldn’t be able to run so smoothly. From welcoming people on the door and creating the programmes, to advertising throughout Cardiff with posters and flyers, we are so grateful to this very special gang of people. Diolch! Beulah URC

Diolch/thank you to RWCMD alumna, Mared for her stunning solo harp recital yesterday. We were treated to an array of music from Fauré to Grace Williams, and we are so grateful to Mared for playing so beautifully for us all. Diolch, Mared! Less than two weeks today until we welcome Soprano, Manon Ogwen Parry & her accompanist, Jeffrey Howard to Concerts at the Crossroads. Manon was the winner of the Towyn Roberts scholarship at the 2025 National Eisteddfod, and we are thrilled that she is coming to Beulah to share a lunchtime recital of songs and arias. We were very sorry that due to personal reasons, Aisha Palmer wasn’t able to join us today at Beulah URC. However, thanks to Liz, Nancy & (last-minute local piano hero) Emyr Roberts, we were treated to a wonderful lunchtime recital. Thank you to our talented and versatile musicians! It was much enjoyed by a big & supportive crowd - Diolch! We wish Aisha the very best & we’ll look forward to welcoming Trio Caer again on another occasion. 🤗

Not long to go now until our next recital at Concerts at the Crossroads!
We are looking forward to welcoming Trio Caer to Beulah for the first time later this month. This combination of instruments is not often heard together and will be a wonderful opportunity to hear a beautiful programme of music for flute, viola & harp. 🌼🎶⭐️
