Trumpet, vocals, and heavy crossover grooves - Audrey Powne lights up Yardbird in August! 🎺🔥

A true creative force on the global future jazz and soul scene, the Melbourne-born, London-based multi-instrumentalist has been described as “very brilliant” by legendary tastemaker Gilles Peterson.

Fresh off selling out iconic venues like London’s Ronnie Scott’s & Jazz:Refreshed, and gear-shifting into her highly anticipated 2026 second album Bodies of Water, this is a rare chance to see an absolute powerhouse in the intimate Kings Road Yard!

Despite coming for a Saturday special, it’s only now on Wednesday I’m able to process the sheer power of London legend Robert Mitchell and his mega trio!! 🚀

Robert spoke to us through many means, rocketing up the piano, fluid synth work, and even poetry. Combined with Zayn’s rock solid guitar ascensions, and Laurie’s surgically precise stick work, these three were unstoppable!

July brings us breakthrough band DREAMSCAPES to Yardbird! 🌞

Refusing to be bound to one box, DREAMSCAPES blur the lines between immersive soundscapes and heavy prog-rock grooves, interwoven with jazz harmony & phrasing.

Coming off the back of releasing their debut album ‘Tales of a Wanderer’, and taking cues from Radiohead, Björk, and Aphex Twin, their sound is a deep, multi-layered journey, blending intricate electronic textures with high-stakes improvisation.

Unbelievable energy in the room for a Saturday special with Cenk Esen! 🎹🚀

Performing tunes from his most recent album ‘Endlessly’, Cenk & his trio made stratospheric sounds, thanks to London powerhouse Ayo Salewa on drums, and French Virtuoso Jules Chappert, having flown in from Paris just for the show. Fierce intensity, dynamic dialog, and musical tales, Cenk gave us one to remember!!
