Legendary UK drummer and producer Richard Spaven returns to Cardiff on September 18th! 🥁✨

For over two decades, Spaven has been a defining force at the very intersection of modern jazz, hip-hop, and club culture. If you’ve listened to Alfa Mist, Loyle Carner, Jordan Rakei, or Richard’s own incredible 2025 session with us, you already know his unmistakable groove.

This show lands just a couple of months after the release of his highly anticipated album Light of Day on Edition Records. To those regulars who caught his stunning set with us in March 2025, and to everyone who has joined the Yardbird community since - this is a mandatory front-row experience.

Fresh off selling out iconic venues like London’s Ronnie Scott’s & Jazz:Refreshed, and gear-shifting into her highly anticipated 2026 second album Bodies of Water, this is a rare chance to see an absolute powerhouse in the intimate Kings Road Yard!

Despite coming for a Saturday special, it’s only now on Wednesday I’m able to process the sheer power of London legend Robert Mitchell and his mega trio!! 🚀

Robert spoke to us through many means, rocketing up the piano, fluid synth work, and even poetry. Combined with Zayn’s rock solid guitar ascensions, and Laurie’s surgically precise stick work, these three were unstoppable!

Tickets are already flying away for our next show with - move quick! See you there on 19th June 🫡
