All children have the right to play as enshrined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. This is recognised both by the UK Government, and by the Welsh Government. Play is an essential part of every child’s life and is vital for the social, emotional, intellectual and physical development during childhood. Our community play teams facilitate both open access and closed access sessions across Cardiff for children and young people aged 5-14 years. The play teams access various settings to hold play sessions. Sessions held include open access drop in sessions, closed access sessions, hostel sessions, school sessions, street play sessions and loose part sessions.
