ies. Our land offering is extensive with over 1,000 acres available, including a 10,000ft runway. MACC Business Park offers significant potential to run businesses sustainably, with access to local wind and solar energy, and the site’s self-managed water supply. With ongoing support from our partners, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the Scottish Government and Argyll and Bute Council, we will continue to invest in the site and work towards a stronger and sustainable economy. We also work closely with the community, local groups and private short term renters, by allowing the use of the site for careers days, filming, conferences, training days and even weddings.

We are pleased to announce that after taking consideration of the community feedback a new pedestrian gate has been installed at the southern end of the site, providing access for responsible pedestrians.

For the safety of all visitors, please remain vigilant at all times and be aware of traffic operating on site. We ask that dogs are kept on a lead at all times for their own safety.

We kindly ask all users to respect the crops by not walking on the areas planted with grass or barley.
If you identify any hazards while on site, please report them to the office. Additionally, if you witness any car or motorbike racing or any other antisocial activity, please notify the police immediately.

By working together, we can help ensure the safety of everyone using the site.

MACC Business Park has recently installed a new security gate at the runway/taxiway crossing as part of our ongoing efforts to improve safety and security for both our tenants and members of the public who use the site.
Unfortunately, the runway/taxiway area has been attracting dangerous car racing, which creates a serious risk to drivers, tenants, and the wider community. The site has previously experienced road traffic accidents, vandalism, and theft, and we believe it is important to continue strengthening our security measures to protect this valuable community asset.
Therefore public access to the runway/taxiway area will only be available during the working hours of 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours, the gate will remain closed.
We also recognise that many local residents responsibly use the site for activities such as walking their dogs or helping children with their first bike rides and with this in mind, the rest of the site will remain open so these activities can continue safely.
We appreciate the community’s understanding and support as we take these steps to keep MACC Business Park a safe environment for everyone.

Last Thursday, Brendan O’Hara MP visited MACC Business Park to affirm his support for the site’s bid to host the European Space Agency - ESA “Invictus” program — a reusable space vehicle capable of flying at five times the speed of sound.

Whilst here Brendan toured several businesses operating from MACC Business Park, including Witchburn Distillery, a new malt whisky producer, and Campbeltown Bond, a state-of-the-art whisky storage facility blending tradition with cutting-edge design.
The visit ended with a live rocket launch by on-site aerospace firm Exotopic, underlining the site’s growing reputation as a hub for innovation.

Thank you for all our tenants, partners & directors who joined us.

🚀 Exciting Times for Machrihanish and Scotland's Space Sector! 🌍

We are thrilled to announce that the European Space Agency (ESA) has shortlisted Machrihanish for their Invictus project, potentially bringing significant opportunities to Scotland’s burgeoning space sector. At Machrihanish Airbase Community Company (MACC), we are eager to welcome Invictus and their team to our facility.

With our robust infrastructure support, we are ready to accommodate the needs of the space industry, providing the space, resources, and logistics for cutting-edge projects. Our site already hosts key skill sets and expertise, making it an ideal location for innovation.

The presence of Invictus here would not only boost our local economy but also create new job opportunities and reinforce Scotland’s standing as a leader in space exploration. We are dedicated to fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking environment and eagerly anticipate the exciting possibilities ahead.

We look forward to seeing Invictus in Machrihanish soon, contributing to Scotland’s bright future in space! 🌌🚀

The European Space Agency (ESA) has shortlisted Spaceport Cornwall and Machrihanish in the UK as testing locations for INVICTUS, a research programme with the goal of developing Europe’s new hypersonic test platform.
