Artist Spotlight – Che Martin

This year’s MOK Fest Dalriada Connections Concert on Aug 23rd in Campbeltown Heritage Centre features a great selection of acts showcasing some of the best national and local music.

The concert headlines with Ímar a 5 piece band that includes musicians from bands such as Talisk, Manran, Mic Lir and Rura who are not to be missed. Also performing is local singer songwriter Che Martin making his debut at this concert. He will be joined by a host of other musicians including Lorne MacDougall, Scooter Muse & Jil Chambless (USA), Ciaran & Jo Mulholland and Ross Conner at this fantastic afternoon concert.

Campbeltown born singer/songwriter Che Martin has been writing songs for the past few years and now has a large catalogue of songs ranging from indie folk rock to gentle ballads and anthemic Scottish standards with a local theme. He is a regular performer in the town and is a member of the session band that play in the Black Sheep on the last Friday of every month.

This afternoon concert is now one of the firm festival favourites and is celebration of the long and ancient pan-celtic links to the Kingdom of Dalriada

Kintyre Schools Pipe Band performers and volunteers have a busy schedule at this year’s MOK Fest which runs from Aug 19 – 23. Their first performance will be at Young Folk Night on Aug 20 next they will perform at the head of the Old Quay on the Friday evening prior to marching into the Victoria Hall to open this year’s Festival Ceilidh.

On Sat 22 they will meet at the head of the Quay before marching up Main Street to perform at 1.00pm. On Sunday 23 the band will once again perform at Kilkerran Survivors Night following fantastic performances at the last 3 Survivors Night concerts. The concert also features Slainte Davaar Allstars, We.R.Soul, Jim and Joanne Swan, and Session A83 with more acts still to be announced.

A spokesman for the festival said “it’s fantastic that the Kintyre Schools Pipe Band will once again perform at so many events at this year’s festival. Their final performances at Kilkerran Survivors Night have been outstanding and we can’t wait to see what they have lined up for us this year. The festival committee can’t thank both Kintyre Schools Pipe Band and Campbeltown Brass for performing once again at the event. They have both won so many national and international competitions with so many talented and dedicated musicians and tutors in both bands. They are great ambassadors for the town.”

Band Spotlight - Skipinnish

The 2026 Glen Scotia Whisky West Coast Rocks Concert on Saturday Aug 22 headlines with Multi award winners Skipinnish making a welcome return to the festival. They will be supported by Heron Valley who have local musician Darren Brown on percussion. Opening the this this 4-hour concert extravaganza is the Argyll Ceilidh Trail on a night which promises to deliver the full-on west coast festival experience in the Victoria Hall.

Skipinnish are a powerhouse of contemporary Scottish music and marked a remarkable voyage of 25 years in 2024. Emerging from the heart of the Scottish Highlands and Islands, the band has flourished into an iconic name in the Celtic music scene, enthralling audiences with their potent blend of traditional and modern sounds

The band was founded in 1999 by Angus MacPhail and Andrew Stevenson and will perform with their new line-up for 2026. Skipinnish remains a beacon of Scottish music, continuing to inspire and entertain. This will be their 4th appearance at the festival.

Artist Spotlight - We.R.Soul

MOK Fest Kilkerran Survivors Night on Sunday August 23rd promises a legendary concert which celebrates local musicians. Slainte Davaar Allstars, Kintyre Schools Pipe Band, We.R.Soul, Session A83 and Jim and Joanne Swan, are already booked to play in the Victoria Hall, with more acts still to be announced.

We.R.Soul make a welcome return to Kilkerran Survivors Night after a year out in 2025. This hugely popular band have played some memorable sets over the years, establishing them as one of the festivals most popular bands.

Bringing together established local musicians and fresh talent the band is a powerhouse of vocals, a lively rhythm section and dazzling horns. This year they have a new set which is not to be missed and is sure to get everyone on dance floor.

Tonight we have the last of our recorded live sets from the 2025 Festival. It is from Slainte Davaar Allstars, Campbeltown's own local supergroup who headlined the Kilkerran Survivors Night on Aug 24th.
