Still Kicking

Still Kicking Still Kicking: A new event in the UK for cyclecars, veteran and vintage motorcycles. A 2-day event where dressing in period clothing is encouraged.

So look for some vintage clothing for the Still Kicking weekend of slightly inappropriate behaviour

Another interesting vehicle coming to Still Kicking in July.
The Miles Busy Bee, built in 1919.
Created by J.A. Mills in Nottinghamshire just after WW1.
It ran from 1919 until 1928 with a large capacity single cylinder engine. In 1928, the engine was changed to a 6hp AJS V-twin. This engine remains in the Busy Bee.
This is a well-known cyclecar and we are very pleased that it's joining us for the weekend.
It's probably busy right now, on the mildly infamous "Festival of slowth". A fantastic cyclecar event, by all accounts.

We are looking forward to fun like this on Friday the 10th July, at Still Kicking.

These short videos were made at Where Is Anna in Belgium, last year. Let's hope the weather is as sunny this year.

Looking forward to seeing these rare motorcycles in the line-up.

Out of 119 vehicles, we have 7 veteran & vintage Douglas 2-3/4hp motorcycles coming to Still Kicking.

Here are a few of them, including a 1910 veteran, a WD 1915 model, a TT bike, and a 1925 twin carburettor racer.
If you are coming, please send pics of your bike(s).

For those who are considering coming, see the page with full details including lists of the motorcycles and cyclecars attending:

Featuring two of the cyclecars that are attending Still Kicking.
Both of them were built by the very talented Tim Gunn.

The little grey one is a single seater 1921 Japsai, with a 350cc J*P engine. (Pictures are courtesy of the Automobile magazine, where this car was featured in a 4-page spread)
The other one is why I fell in love with cyclecars. It's a 1919 Grafton. I believe it has a 300cc race side valve J*P engine.

We will be able to have a closer look in July.

With less than 7 weeks to go, I thought we ought to have a Still Kicking page.
We now have 115 motorcycles and 4 cyclecars booked.
There's still plenty of spaces and loads of room for camping / caravans / motor homes.

You don't have to be a member of a club to join in. You just need to bring a pre-1936 motorcycle or cyclecar for the big ride-out on Saturday.
Friday is a day to let off steam. So, bring a motorcycle or interesting prewar car for 1-on-1 rides across a grass field.

Friday will be just like Where is Anna, in Belgium. As this is our first event, I have used one of my pictures of the sprints in Belgium.
