Cycling Research Participants needed!!

Keen to have your VO2 max measured for free?!

We need both male and female cyclists who are over 16 years of age to help us see if there are any performance benefits from an acute dose of Blackcurrant extract.

Blackcurrant extract has been shown to improve cycling performance, but this is usually after a minimum of 7-days of supplementation. We are exploring the effects of acute vs chronic blackcurrant powder supplementation to see if a single dose pre-exercise helps cycling performance.

You will get gold-standard lab based VO2 max and FTP data by being part of the study. All testing sessions are in Hamilton and the research is being conducted by the University of Auckland.

If you, or anyone you know, may be interested please contact Lill Morton on 0275190374 or at [email protected]

Junior Racing

Every two weeks, the Grassroots Trust Velodrome hosts Junior Racing on Friday nights from 6pm – 8pm. Junior Racing is an exciting night where kids match themselves against their mates, put their skills to practice, and of course, have a whole heap of fun. Follow the Grassroots Trust Velodrome Junior Racing page for updates.

Riders will be racing against people of their own ability, as we believe this is the best way to ensure good honest fair racing! The organisers will place riders in the grade they believe will best suit their present ability, and this means they will get good competitive (but fun) racing!

Race Nights:

21st October, 4th November, 18th November, and 2nd December
The cost is $10.00 if you prepay or $15.00 on the night
You can book ahead by contacting reception on 07 823 1421 or [email protected] but we will be taking entries on the night!
