The Old Chapel is the home of Calstock Arts, a thriving arts and music venue with a stunning view of the Tamar Valley from its large picture window beyond the stage. Music includes
jazz, country, folk, opera and classical, as well as theatre, poetry, comedy,
literary events and more. All events benefit from the outstanding acoustics and
surroundings of the chapel.

The Mushroom Show - THIS Sunday (13th September) 2.30pm

Calstock Arts is on a mission to make brilliant live theatre and music affordable for the next generation of audiences. So this Sunday, we're offering all children's tickets for just £1 when they come along with a paying adult (up to 3 children per adult).

Award-winning Scratchworks Theatre Company brings together science, music and interactive fun for the whole family. Expect a great mix of games, laughter and a bit of incidental learning along the way. Come and join in!

Tickets are limited to 30 to 40 children depending on numbers, so please book in advance to avoid disappointment. Already booked at full price? You'll be refunded automatically.

Tonight at Calstock Arts! Jo in the Water

There's still time to grab a seat for tonight's screening of Jo in the Water, and it's a special one.

This feature-length documentary follows Jo Bateman, an Exmouth sea swimmer who became a reluctant activist when she took on one of the UK's biggest water companies over sewage pollution.

It's a proper David and Goliath story, and rather than leaving you fuming, it goes looking for the joy and inspiration in grassroots activism. Featuring Chris Packham, Jeremy Vine and Jim Murray MBE.

Best of all, we've got a Q&A after the film with director Pip Piper AND Jo Bateman herself. A rare chance to hear the story straight from the people who lived it.

And every penny of ticket income (after costs) goes to Drip Drip, the local campaign protecting our stretch of the Tamar.

Meet Augustine Fogwoode, quite possibly the world's MOST enthusiastic mushroom fan, on a mission to spread the word about the wonders of fungi. But with only her puppet friend Goldie for company, she's going to need a few more fun-guys to help her out… 🍄

Brought to you by the award-winning Scratchworks Theatre Company, this is a joyful hour of science, playful music, interactive games and lots of laughs for the whole family. Suitable for ages 5+ (ish) and guaranteed to send everyone home grinning.

🎸 The Terraplanes Blues Band

UK Blues Award winners are heading to the Old Chapel on Saturday 12th Sept, and they’re bringing the swagger!

Hailing from Bristol, The Terraplanes serve up authentic 50s and 60s rhythm and blues with a heavy dose of Delta country blues. Think stomping, soulful, in-your-face R’n’B that fills a room. They won Emerging Act of the Year at the UK Blues Awards, headlined London’s iconic 100 Club, and have been shortlisted in the UK’s top 20 blues bands four years running.

It’s going to be a proper night. Grab a drink at the bar and settle in for a live show with real chemistry and real energy.
