Wales Harp Festival - Gŵyl Delynau Cymru

On 16th April 2006 the first Welsh International Harp Festival opened at Caernarfon, featuring a wide range of music played on different types of harp, including Triple harps, Celtic harps, African Kora and Ku-cheng from China.

The harp originated in Mesopotamia and the instrument has been adopted by cultures throughout the world in a variety of forms, but in Wales there are more harps per head of population than anywhere else and it is considered to be our national instrument.

Celebrating the legacy of the Queen of the Triple Harp, the Nansi Richards Scholarship provides a prestigious platform for Wales' most promising young harpists to compete and shine.

Gyda'r Gŵyl Delynau Cymru 2026 y cychwyn yfory gyda chefnogaeth Hwb Caernarfon rydym yn dod â'r delyn i mewn i dref Caernarfon gyda telynorion Angharad Huw a Angharad Wyn Jones.

The Welsh Harp Festival 2026 starts tomorrow with the support of Hwb Caernarfon we are bringing the harp into Caernarfon town with harpists Angharad Huw - Telynores/Harpist and Angharad Wyn Jones - Harpist.

Bydd y perfformiadau yma am ddim i wylio a chofiwch dod draw i Galeri (Caernarfon) Dydd Mawrth a Dydd Mercher am amryw o ddigwyddiadau a pherfformiadau ar y delyn!!

These performances will be free to watch and remember to come along to Galeri Caernarfon Tuesday and Wednesday for various events and performances on the harp!!
