After a lot of thought and discussionwe have decided not to hold the GVC this year. The reasons for this are that we do not feel we have enough time to organise it such that we can provide a full and well run event and, we don't know quite what the government may do in the next couple of months regarding Covid 19.

We do hope to run the event in 2022 and will be sending out more posts when the details are available.

Assuming restrictions allow, we are proposing to hold the 2021 event on Saturday 2nd October. However, aspects of the event may be different to previous years due to ongoing Coronavirus restrictions, we will know more about this in March and the following months.

When we get the go ahead to hold the event, updates will be on GVC page and entries available through SI Entries.

Hi

Due to the Coronavirus and the government restrictions that are currently in place regarding sports event and mass gathering, we have decided to reschedule the event to October 2021. A lot of work had already been carried out to organise the event, but there was still plenty to do and with the uncertainty that this type of event would be allowed to take place, along with protecting entrants, families and all helpers, we have decided to reschedule the event into next year.

We do appreciate your interest in the event and hope that over the coming months we can provide you with an update regarding the event rescheluing in 2021.

Thank you

Paul Greenfield

The Goyt Valley website has published a short report on our event which includes a fly-through of the long route. It's worth having a look at.
