Our Story
This challenge event, organised by the High Peak LDWA group, is open to walkers and runners. It was first run in 2015. There have been 4 very successful events. There are two attractive but challenging routes from Burbage Institute, Buxton, through the western Peak District including Axe Edge, Shining Tor, Lamaload Reservoir and Taxal Moor on the long course. The route is mostly on FPs and tracks and includes some moorland sections with a total ascent of 4,000ft on the long course.
Over £1500 has been donated to charities, including the Buxton Mountain Rescue Team, from the event so far.
This year, 2020, the event will be run on Sunday October 18th.
