This exciting opportunity invites a musician to work creatively with communities across our libraries as part of this year’s Summer Reading Challenge, Read to the Beat.

After last year's successful event Friends of Fishers Field and Park Nature Reserve will be holding a 'Bees, butterflies and Bugs' event on Sunday 5th July.
The event includes pond dipping, a tree trail with leaf rubbing, bug bingo and lots more.
There will also be stalls with local honey and beeswax products, Pumpkin’s Wildlife Hospital, butterfly experts and a chance to dress up with your local community police.

Planning for this year's festival is well underway and we are will be previewing some of our events over the next month.

Firstly, an event that starts before the festival - the Three Crowns Beer Festival. Hosted by Bushey and Oxhey Ladies Circle this popular event returns to Festival week and runs from the 2nd to 5th July a The Three Crowns pub. Come along and enjoy real ales, BBQ and live music!

This year the Festival runs from the 3rd to the 12th July and we have over 30 events for you to enjoy. As usual we will be sending out a full programme to every address in WD23 so look out for that in June. All at Bushey Festival are saddened at the passing of Raymond Coffer. The Performing Arts Festival that he started and ran for many years was a huge part of the cultural life of the town. He will be sadly missed

In a week of already bad news inside and out of the Borough, we find that we are having to say goodbye to the creative genius that was Raymond Coffer - the man behind Bushey Performing Arts Festival.

Bringing together all the talent from across the Borough every summer at Warren Lake and the Mary Fosdyke Garden in Bushey Heath, Raymond undoubtedly produced the local artistic highlight of the year.

This year's event was sadly cancelled when Raymond's illness took hold and it would be wonderful if someone could take up the batten to ensure his legacy lives on.

My condolences to Raymond's family and friends.
