COVID-19 update Tournament Cancellation

It is with regret that we must inform you, we can no longer hold this year's tournament.

We had been holding out, waiting in hope for some positive guidance from the government/LTA, but we
have just been informed by Culford that the venue will not be fully open and therefore not safe to run.

This is, of course, a huge disappointment to us and we will look forward to next summer and a great week of tennis.

An Update on the 2020 Tennis Tournament
THURSDAY 26 MARCH 2020

We understand that you may be concerned about this Summer’s Tennis Tournament and whether it can still go ahead in light of the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.

The safety and welfare of our players and their families are our top priority, as well as the staff, coaches and volunteers that make the event possible.

LTA Guidance is currently that all events are to be cancelled up until the end of May. At the moment, they are however, keen to avoid competitions being cancelled or postponed beyond that date.�

The committee Members feel it’s best to monitor the situation as it unfolds.

Well done to everyone who took part in our fun speed of serve competition last week.
85 boys and 26 girls took part. Georgia Shields (13) hit a serve of 120km/h to win the U14 girls competition while Natasha Mashanganyika won the U10s with a serve of 109 km/h.
The best overall score was 169 km/h hit by Ed Pomeroy (19) while Seth Midwood (14) won the boys U14 competition with a serve of 153 km/h and Herbie Morris (10) won the U10 competition with a massive 139 km/h.
