Something special is coming to East Budleigh this week.
The Peacemaker Festival runs 15–17 May 2026 at All Saints Church, celebrating the life of Roger Conant, born in East Budleigh in 1592, who went on to found Salem, Massachusetts.
We’re proud to be collaborating with the Festival to present a concert on the evening of Saturday 16 May. Classical guitarist Oliver Manning, who has delighted our audiences in previous years, will perform a varied programme, including Spanish favourites and “Nocturnal” by Benjamin Britten. This was composed for guitarist Julian Bream, and is one of the most influential works of the 20th Century for classical guitar.
The concert, which also includes an address by the Bishop of Exeter, takes place in All Saints Church in East Budleigh at 7:30pm with refreshments available in the Church Hall from 6pm.
Tickets are just £12, available from Budleigh Salterton Tourist Information and East Budleigh Community Shop, or via Ticketsource (£1 booking fee). ticketsource.com/peacemaker-festival
The weekend also includes several other events:
Friday 15 May: Roger Conant Supper, American-style menu, 7 pm in the church hall
Saturday 16 May, morning: Historic walk around East Budleigh led by the Otter Valley Association, 11 am
Sunday 17 May: Village Music Concert featuring local musicians, 3 pm, followed by Afternoon Tea at 4:30 pm
