Harry Bird is a Glasgow based singer-songwriter, composer, circus musician and actor. He has toured hundreds of venues all over Europe and beyond as a solo performer, as frontman of travelling folksters the Harry Bird and the Rubber Wellies and in a variety of circus and theatrical productions.

Having lived for many years in the Middle East and the Basque Country his songs reflect a certain influence from both places as well as a large debt to his musical heroes, Paul Simon, Rory McLeod and Manu Chao. He is currently recording his fourth album of original songs, due for release next year.

Mike Bailey is a stalwart of the Arran folk scene and perhaps of Arran itself.

Mike paints the canvas of moving, and living on Arran through his own songs. With warmth and humour he delivers an excellent array of his own penned material and well known country, folk and bluegrass covers.

Playing in this Saturday from 8pm - a rare treat these days. So get yourself booked in and come listen to the fabulous Mike Bailey.

Originally born a Falkirk bairn, singer songwriter troubadour Mike Edwards cut his musical teeth performing on various open mic stages all over Scotland and such randomly far-flung places such as Berlin, San Francisco, Vancouver, Wellington, and Manchester. Currently residing in Glasgow, he brings with him his unique brand of original covers; carefully selected classic songs the way you've never heard them before, interspersed with only the best of his original material.

You can enjoy Americans Duo live this Saturday 30th from 9pm Crofters Arran.

David and Thomas Petie is a father and son duo that brings tradition and innovation to performing music. David is a veteran of many rock bands, blues outfits and rowdy folk nights, whereas Tom comes from a gentler, more acoustic tradition, with a nod to Americana and bluegrass. The cliche is that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and in this case, it is true. David is a virtuoso guitarist and mandolinist, whilst Tom is an outstanding songwriter with an incredible voice. Together, they form a formidable live act that is both enjoyable and thought-provoking. Combining instrumentals, self-penned songs, covers and poetry, their performance is elegant, personal and haunting.

Tom is the lead vocalist and guitarist with Jose’s Son, available on Spotify, whilst David fronts The David Petie Band. This tour represents the 30th and 60th years’ birthday celebrations of Tom and David.

When live music was “banned” we took 7 of our regular artists to a studio to record live music which was available to watch at home from any where in the world. A way to connect through the music of our people when we couldn’t get out to see each other and play.

We still have more ambition for the Crofters Music online platform but in the meantime we are hosting intimate live gigs at Crofters Arran on a Saturday from 9pm.

Sometimes these will be recorded or live streamed (all depending on how busy the team are) but if you can’t make it down to Crofters Arran - you can always watch our artists online. They’ll be up there indefinitely.

This week Tim Pomeroy is graciously stepping in to cover for Shindig - anyone who has listened to Tim or knows him knows how humble he is about the exquisite music he creates. Capturing an audience with his haunting melodies and humorous songs.
