BRINGING PEOPLE AND GOOD FOOD TOGETHER
After Seven years of doing just that, Bristol Food Connections is coming to a close.
The festival first took place in 2014, and our core aim has always been to put Bristol on the map as a place where food unites communities, nourishes people and planet and fosters pride in our city.
We’ve provided opportunities for people to learn, create, debate, explore, speak out, have fun and make connections - and have engaged thousands of people in helping to create a food system that is better for people, and better for Bristol. We have shone a light on Bristol’s diverse food culture from producers to restaurants, home cooks to growers and community groups to food retailers, to name just a few!
We've hosted a rave in a coffee warehouse, a market in a concert hall, afternoon tea on a train, cider tasting on a ferry, talks and demos in fancy tents, plus countless other unique and imaginative feasts, workshops, tours, talks and tastings.
It's not been an easy journey. We’ve always had huge ambitions to be diverse, inclusive and exciting, whilst inspiring change, and were very much hoping to continue on that path for years to come. But alas the many challenges and changes over the past 18 months have simply made that impossible.
We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been involved in and supported the festival over the years. It has been the wonderfully creative, friendly and passionate communities of Bristol who have made Food Connections such a fantastic project to be a part of.
We’d love to hear your favourite festival memories….. we have too many to list!
Over and out!
Team BFC.
