This is what a true open space looks like, do you miss it?

After years of trying, the landlord and neighbours won in taking over this time, but the community is real, so give us a space, and watch us do this anywhere. We are a movement.

Bristol is writing a 10-year Culture Strategy. 2027 to 2037.

It will set the priorities. The funding. The framework council uses to make decisions for a decade.

Every venue closure, every freelance rate, every grant pot, every meanwhile space. This is the document that shapes how it all goes.
If you’ve ever felt your work goes unseen by this city, this is the moment to put it on the record.

Bristol City Council are running two surveys: one for the general public, one for those working in the arts and cultural sector (organisations, community groups, venues, creative practitioners, freelancers, consultants).

Comment ‘bristol’ below and we’ll DM you both links.

Closes Friday 10 July 2026.

bollytekk is what happens when a handful of artists come together with a commitment to exploring a new sound and visual language.

digging into this was cool because it felt deeper than just “fusion” music. it’s a byproduct of brown kids raised on underground music looking for a lane of their own.

it seems it’s like just the beginning for , and we’re excited to see where they take this movement.

We love Bristol. That’s why we’re not pretending everything’s fine.

The city has talent, culture, warmth and it’s also getting more expensive, more transactional, and harder to live in. End of year makes it obvious. January makes it unavoidable.

So we’re choosing a different “new year” project:

From January 2026: build the local stack.
Third places.
Food + small-scale growing.
Repair + circular fashion. Shared tools and refurbished tech. Local exchange (yes, sometimes cash).
Less dependence on platforms. More value staying in the community.

Comment ideas you have that we can work on together.
