We asked one of our new lovely members what her thoughts were on attending Business Golf Network 👇
My boss (slightly jokingly) said 'Why don't you pop along to BGN, you want to try golf, it's near the office and will be a great opportunity to network'. So I did.
One very wet morning in Feb, at silly o'clock I drove up to the Bristol. Was I nervous? Incredibly so, but as a woman in business, we soon learn to put our big girl golf pants on and head through the front door. I was instantly met with welcoming smiles, Chris Holloway put me at ease and introduced himself.
2 coffees on board and a lot of handshakes later, I'm more than surviving, I'm actually really enjoying myself in a room full of chaps, from a wealth of sectors, banter flowing and tucking into a great breakfast.
Ben Hortop asked me to do a 60 seconds who am I. Raw honesty was well received and I got a few chuckles after Ben suggested I use men's clubs due to my build 😁
It was then time to hit the range, I borrowed some sticks (who knew they call them that) connected with some balls and connected with some lovely people. Business leads have been exchanged since and I came back for the second week - speaks volumes.
