Just a reminder that entries for the 78th Bridgwater & District Ploughing Match close on Monday 7th September.

Currently our Novice training day is still going ahead with a big thank you to our hosts this year, the Barrow family. Despite the lack of rain they are still happy for us to use their field, for which we are very grateful.

Albeit the conditions are far from perfect, it is still a good opportunity to get your ploughs in the ground with help from our seasoned ploughmen.
There are a few spaces remaining, so get in touch!

After a successful novice training day last year we have decided to run another one this year.
A chance for our local Novice plough men and women, young or old to learn the basics of match ploughing and hopefully go on to enter our match and others!
Bring along your tractor and plough or come on foot.
Tractors and ploughs must be fully operational and not siezed.
Minimum age of 13 and under16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Sunday 30th August 2026.

Location between Nether Stowey and Spaxton. Exact location TBC.

Entries are now open for this year match on Saturday 19th September. Entry Schedules are being posted out early next week but this year we also have a new website where you can enter and pay online or print off an entry form. Link for the website will be in the comments section.
