⭐️ The Wandering Bear ⭐️

Opening Thursday 2nd April at 10am!

We’re so excited to introduce The Wandering Bear – a family-run café, lodge & farm shop, taking over from the much-loved Wee Bear Cafe.

As a family, this is something really special for us, and we can’t wait to welcome you all through the doors. We’ve made a few small changes and added our own touch, while keeping the heart and spirit of the place just as it’s always been.

A huge thank you to Gareth and Anne for making the transition so smooth, and to everyone in the village for such a warm welcome already – it truly means a lot.

We’re looking forward to creating a relaxed, friendly space for great coffee, good food, and a proper catch-up.

Stay tuned over the next few days as we share more about what we’ll have to offer 👀

Hello Wee Bear chums! Friday allows us to say a final farewell to all of our Wee Bear music regulars. We are truly honoured to have as our final guests our great friends, Robert Vincent, Danny Williams and Anna Corcoran. All proceeds will go towards the recording of Rob’s next album. For all ticket holders, a reminder that there will be no card facilities on the night and the evening will be BYOB (no on sales available). Look forward to seeing you! Bear x

As the time draws closer to our final day of the season, it is also time for us to draw to a close our tenure at the Wee Bear. 26th October will be our team’s final day, with new owners arriving for the start of the Spring season, April 2026. Anyone who has run a hospitality business will tell you that “you will know when the time is right”. That time has come for us. We’ve had such a wonderful time, cultivating new, unexpected friendships and indulging in our love of family, food and fun (and dogs!). There are many things we will miss, but these precious memories of new friends, laughter and amazing music nights will stay with us always. Moving forward, Anne and I will not be lost to you! We have plans for pop-ups, books as well as new travels & adventures. Music too if we are able. (Currently negotiating a final Wee Bear fling for January)! Wee Bear will continue in other forms and all will be shared via our social media platforms. We look forward to welcoming you along for the ride … Bear, Winnie, Gareth & Anne xx

Having just about survived the howling gales, we have decided to open today (prior to the gig tonight). Any brave soldiers can get a cuppy and a scuffin if out this way! Bear x

With the imminent arrival of Storm Amy over the next couple of days and high winds and heavy rain rain expected, we have taken the decision to close the cafe this coming Saturday (4th October). Having been left 80% weatherproof by Storm Floris earlier this year, and with scaffolding in place for the repairs, it’s important for us not to take risks with the safety of our girls and customers. Hopefully, by making the decision early, Sods Law will prevail and we can all enjoy the ensuing brilliant sunshine! Back open on Sunday. Hope to see you then (suntan or not)! Bear x

What a phenomenal way to sign off this year’s Wee Bear music sessions. Brooks and Aaron return and, not resting on their laurels, are mixing it up with a double bass player. Fireworks assured! Final tickets available from the cafe . DM for availability… Bear x

WEE ARE OPEN
Most will be aware of the closure of the road between Wee Bear Cafe and Peel Farm for a near 4 month period. To confirm, businesses are open as usual. Whilst there are diversion plans and signs in place, signs may lead to a little confusion. From the Kirriemuir direction, there is no change to road layout. From Alyth direction, traffic is diverted around the loch and into Lintrathen, over the bridge. Road closure is from Wee Bear driveway. This disruption is beyond our control. Any issues, please let us know and we will pass to Scottish Water and Morrison construction. Bear x
