This ride that we call life isn't easy, in fact at times it is down right rough, tough and frankly sh*tty.

When looking for a partner it's so important that you find someone who will stand by you no matter what.

The last thing any of us need is a partner who picks holes in us, puts us down or makes us feel unworthy. Even worse someone who makes us feel like we are crazy.

Every single one of us has a bit of crazy, find the person who looks at you like that part of you is a bit of magic.

Anyone who tries to make you feel bad about yourself does not deserve a space in your unique universe.

Being a separated parent is one of the hardest relationships on this earth!

Yes, I get that you wish you would never have to see them again, trust me I have lived this life for the last 8 years and it stinks. Of course, you wish you could banish them to a remote desert island where their name was never to be mentioned again. That is totally natural and normal, otherwise, you would still be together surely.

BUT.....your children deserve better.

They deserve to hear you consistently speaking kindly, positively and compassionately about that other parent.

Are they going to get it wrong? Hell yes
Are they going to make awful, hideous mistakes? Too right

Here is the thing though, so will you. Neither of you are the perfect parent but how you treat each other models how your children will treat you, each other and people around them.

If you want your children to show you respect, compassion, kindness, forgiveness, tolerance then the first place you show them is the way you treat their other parent.

Disrespect, condemn or belittle their other parent and you have no right in complaining when your child treats you the same way. After all, you showed them that way of behaving.

Dating before you are ready is one of the most common and painful mistakes many make.

If you are going through or been through a divorce, give yourself at least a year to get over that person, situation and heart break.

The number of people that tell me that they dealt with it, while they were together, is alarming....not least as it cannot be true.

Respect yourself, your heart and your future partner enough to do the work. Stay single and don't date until you are fully healed and you will attract a better match which is a win win situation.

Allowing a man to be your strength means being vulnerable around him.....yes ladies I get it that is hard, trust me I have had that battle too!

When a man finds the right woman she is his weakness, he would do more for her than many others and it often defies logic.....this is why they often say they feel out of their mind!

Dating is not as complicated as many make it out to be.

Here are a few points that may help to simplify it:
1- A date is any activity out side of the home where two people either look to find out if there is a romantic connection or look to strengthen an existing romantic connection.
2- The aim of a first date is ONLY to get a second date.
3- Dating does NOT signify a relationship, the are we exclusive conversation does that....do not skip this part.
4 - Dates are fun! Share an experience, laugh, talk but do not interview the other person.
5 - Try not to look for flaws, we all have them and if we focus on each other's good stuff then everyone would be happier and more secure.

Dates are essential for successful lasting love. They aren't just for new couples, married couples and even grandparents can date too!
