Family tickets with VAT discount now live 😀 https://summers-end.com/choose-your-tickets/
The UK government has introduced a temporary VAT relief for summer 2026 to make family days out a bit more affordable. The reduced rate applies to children's and family tickets for family friendly festivals, shows and similar events taking place between 25 June and 1 September 2026.
Our family friendly festival sits squarely in that window, and all our prices already include VAT in the rates, so a big chunk of our ticket range now qualifies! Yay!!! ✨

Family Zone (our premium area for groups with kids)
💡 Heads up: If your order has a mix of adult and child/youth tickets, the whole family booking qualifies- not just the kids' tickets.
🚫 What's not eligible
These don't have a specific family/child price, so they sit outside the relief:
Adult tickets if a child or youth ticket is not included in order (though we are seeking HMRC clarification on this!)
Glamping
Campervan pitches
Main VIP area
Also Child meals will qualify for the VAT reduction so we will be working with our food vendors to see how we can make sure that can be taken advantage of by everyone at Summer’s End Angus too!

If you've already booked an eligible ticket- a youth ticket, or an order that mixes adult + child/youth tickets- you're likely entitled to the value of the VAT saving back. We are working with HMRC to get some clear guidelines on this and as soon as we have them we’ll be in touch- hopefully with your reimbursement options!
We're just waiting on final guidance from HMRC to confirm exactly how this works. As soon as it's confirmed, we'll email every eligible ticket holder directly. You don't need to do anything- sit tight and we'll come to you. 🙌

Q: Do I need a discount code? Nope. Prices on the website will already reflect the new lower VAT rate
Q: Do I get the discount if the child order is a free ticket for my under 5 year old? Yes! As long as you add your free ticket for your under 5 at the time of booking that will include you in the family scheme and you will also get the discount on the adult tickets too.
Q: How much will I save? It depends on the ticket, but the VAT cut takes you from 20% down to 5%- so that's a whopping 15% off the eligible portions of your booking.
Q: I already bought my tickets. Will I get something back? If your order includes a youth ticket, or a mix of adult and child/youth tickets, then very likely yes- we'll be offering reimbursement options to eligible ticket holders. We just need HMRC's final word on the mechanics. We'll be in touch by email as soon as we know, no need to contact us.
Q: What kind of reimbursement options will there be? We're still finalising the details (pending HMRC guidance), but the plan is to give you a choice- potentially including a refund of the VAT saving, or, if permitted, a benefit-in-kind alternative like festival credit or an upgrade. We hope that you will be able to pick what works best for you but it’s up to HMRC to tell us what is allowed!
Q: I bought adult-only tickets. Am I eligible? Adult-only tickets (with no children in the order) we believe aren't covered by the relief, so likely no reimbursement on those. Sorry! But we are double checking this with HMRC!
Q: Why isn't glamping / campervan / VIP included? These don't have a dedicated family/child price, so they fall outside the government's scheme. The relief is specifically aimed at options with family and children's admission.
Q: When does this offer end? It's a government scheme that runs until 1 September 2026. After that, standard VAT applies again.But as our festival is in August its all good as its based on the event date.
Q: My family ticket includes adults- does the whole thing get the discount? Yes! As long as the bundle includes at least one child or youth, the lower rate applies to the full family ticket price.
