Many came to say their farewells to a local legend, at Carlisle Crematorium yesterday. An incredibly gifted table tennis player who inspired many of his, and the next generation. A disarming smile and looks of a rock star, but also a most genuine, kind and generous person who had time for everyone. He lived his life his way, living abroad in various locations, but home, was always Carlisle.
His loss is felt across the communities he so loved, but his stories will live on. Fly high 💙🤍. Thank you to Anne and all the team at George Hudson & Sons Funeral Directors

Earlier this week at Carlisle Crematorium, we gathered to say goodbye to the most loved partner, Mum, Mum2, Nanny and friend. We heard an incredibly moving tribute from her daughter and heartfelt words from her grandchildren, and the visual tribute which evoked many memories, was followed by a short video of her with her adored dog.
We shared laughter, smiles and tears as we listened to funny stories and reflected on a life well lived.

I was incredibly honoured today to lead the service at Carlisle crematorium, of a gentleman I got to know. It was moving to see people come from near and far to pay their respects, to a truly lovely man. He was highly respected in the world of Field Spaniels, both showing his champion dogs, and as a breeder and was truly honoured to be asked to judge at Crufts earlier this year.
A most devoted and ‘simply wonderful’ husband, a true and loyal friend and neighbour. A genuinely kind, generous and caring soul, who has touched the hearts of many. Rest easy, the most gentle of men ❤️💙❤️💙. Thank you to the team Ian Blair Undertaker

Carlisle crematorium saw a sad farewell to a beautiful lady, the epitome of grace and style. She loved to travel and went to many far flung corners if the globe, and cruising was her passion. But her greatest love, was her family, she was an incredibly devoted partner, Mum, grandma, great grandma and friend. She made the best “falling down water” and gave the best cuddles. Her brightness of character brought light to many, and many occasions! She is loved so very dearly and will be greatly missed. Rest easy, beautiful lady 🩷🩷. This morning I was honoured to lead a service of farewell for a disarming gentleman, I had the privilege to meet a few months ago. We listened to memories of his farming life, something that carried over into his love of gardening and growing vegetables. We heard of his worldwide travels with his wife but his side and how he cared for her, heart and soul, during her illness. A wonderful husband, pop and grandad…he was epic! Reunited with his beloved wife…rest easy gentle soul ❤️💙 thank you to Anne of George Hudson & Sons Funeral Directors for everything!
