🏍️ BOSTON BIKE NIGHT – LET’S TALK NUMBERS 🏍️
Following repeated questions from Councillor Dale Broughton about the finances of Boston Bike Night, we thought it was only right to publish the figures openly and transparently.
💰 INCOME
🔹 Trader income: £3,650
🔹 Sponsorship: £2,600
TOTAL INCOME: £6,250
💷 EXPENSES
🔸 Total event expenses: £8,660
📉 FINAL RESULT: £2,410 LOSS
So, despite the support from our fantastic traders and sponsors, this year’s event finished £2,410 in the red (we keep getting told this is a commercial event)
And importantly, not one of the organisers took a wage for organising the event, and no organiser claimed back any personal expenses.
The £8,660 is therefore the cost of putting the event on — it does not include wages or expenses paid to the organisers.
We are sharing this because we believe people should understand the reality behind putting on a large community event. There are significant costs involved, and those costs continue to rise.

🏍️ Boston Bike Night is run because we believe in the event and what it brings to Boston.
We hope these figures provide the transparency that has been requested and help people understand the financial challenge involved in keeping the event going.
