Not long to go until Oakhanger Beer Festival 2025!

Our next beer comes from the Welsh Borders; Butty Bach from

Literally meaning Little Friend. This is a smooth premium ale brewed using Maris Otter and Crystal malts together with Fuggles, Goldings and Bramling Cross hops grown locally on the Welsh Border. This one will be familiar to anyone who has stopped at a pub for refreshment whilst walking in the Brecon Beacons and will no doubt be as well received here in East Hampshire!

This year we’ve got something really local for our next beer courtesy of Brewery!

Coming from just down the road in Selborne, Gilberts 1765 is based on an original recipe from the famous naturalist Gilbert White. This is made with a little smoked malt which gives it a distinctive but subtle smoky character!

Our next beer is truly "Divine". Its Bishops Farewell by

This beer was first brewed in 1996 in honour of William John “Bishop Bill” Westwood on his retirement as Bishop of Peterborough. Bishops Farewell pioneered the use of the US Cascade hop which went on to launch the craft beer revolution. Expect rich and fruity hop flavours and a refreshing finish!

In the lead up to the event we wanted to share some FAQs:

Tickets give you entry to the event plus a souvenir pint glass, a programme listing all the beers, lager, cider and wine with tasting notes, and 2 free beer tokens equivalent to 1 pint.
𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐬?
Beer tokens are £2 each. They entitle you to half a pint of a beer, lager or cider of your choice.

We will have card readers available that accept all major forms of card payment.

Children are welcome, but this event is designed for adults. For safety and licensing reasons, children are not permitted at the bar area. If you are lucky enough to look under 25 please be prepared to show valid ID when purchasing alcohol.

Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome, please consider if they are ok with loud music.

To support our food vendors and fundraising efforts, no outside food or drink is permitted. Thank you for helping us make this event a success!

We are a rural village and the nearest public transport (Alton/Liphook) train station, is a short taxi ride away. Alternatively, we have car parking available if you can find a designated driver!
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐈 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫?
We are a predominantly outside event, and now we are in autumn the evenings can get chilly! We have plenty of shelter from any rain but please dress appropriately for an autumn evening, and the possibility of it being a bit muddy underfoot.

Beer announcement!

Our next beer at Oakhanger Beer Festival 2025 is Hooky by the wonderful Hook Norton Brewery!

We would list all the awards this beer has won here but we simply havent got enough space. Brewed at the famously independent and historic vicotrian brewery (do visit it!) this session beer is aromatic malty and most of all drinkable!

This time next week the festival will be in full swing! And we're excited! Preparations are full steam ahead now.

Hope to see you there!! As a reminder next Friday we have the music of Freddie Mercury and Key Lime Pi, food from Elios Pizza and of course all our lovely ales, lager, cider and wine! If you haven't got your ticket yet there are still some available but be quick!
