“There’s nothing to do in Bodmin”
Ahem – we’d like to politely challenge that…
This October we're bringing a little collection of new, quirky, Fringe-worthy theatre into the very intimate surroundings of The Old Library. We are calling it – The Fringe Binge

Two Cornish, One touring Nationally and a double bill fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe. All chosen because we think they're worth taking a chance on.
Tickets start from £12. Buy one full-price ticket for one of the Fringe Binge performances and you can see the others for £10 each. Bargain.

Because sometimes you know exactly what you like.
And sometimes it's rather fun to take a chance on something you don't.

Hey Friend!
We are having a party so we can tell you all about the events coming up this season.
There will be cake, repeat there will be cake.
Come solo, bring a friend, meet the team and ask a question.

Just RSVP to Lisa P as she is cake duty and doesn't want to have to eat leftovers all by herself the next day.

Hope to see you there!

We are delighted that Keith Wallis, host of The Piskie Trap podcast is back for a brand new talk! Charms and Curses delves once more into the history surrounding witchcraft in Cornwall, to explore beliefs around charming and healing, as well as the power of the evil eye and the idea of ‘ill-wishing.’

These normally sell out so we are giving you advance warning!

Keith works across theatre and film, and his podcast 'The Piskie Trap’ explores the folklore and local history from across Cornwall. His recent work has involved a number of collaborations with leading historians, writers, folklorists and storytellers, as part of a movement to preserve local folklore traditions, and to promote Cornish history and heritage

Please note that this talk contains references to violence and occult themes.

The Hopening Ceremony is a new performance piece by our very own amdram troupe 'The Bodminarty' Think Monty Python meets Music Hall!

Influenced by the golden age of sketch comedy and British sitcoms, expect joy and laughter, singing, dancing, sketches, scone jokes, chaos and circus acts that never quite made it to the circus!

All accompanied by our resident pianist, Marc Jenyon.

The Bodminarty Troupe are touring village halls of Bodmin and beyond. First stop is Blisand and is perfect for a fun-loving panto audience (although not quite as small-child friendly) and packed with Cornish in-jokes, fantastic singing, comedy performance and writing – we also tweak certain elements to make each experience unique to the village or town we are in!

The Hopening Ceremony Sat 26th Sept 7.30pm
Blisland Village Hall
Run time: 2 hours 15mins including interval
Recommended Age: 10+ (with some adult humour)

So, we thought we would try the 'Editing questions' trend on the Bodminarty Troupe!

(Meaning...they weren't quite asked the question you hear on this video!)

Although Blisland Village Hall may not be full of magical mermaids and champagne, we hope it will be full of laughter and fun for our first

'Hopening Ceremony' on 26th September

Think a cross between Monty Python and Music Hall!
