Golden 8 Ball Tournament Known as 'The Prestigious Blackball Weekend', Golden 8 Ball is held over two two consecutive weekends in June, attracting over 250 teams and 1,000 players.

The Golden 8 Ball is a very popular annual pool festival, held over two consecutive weekends in June, for players of all abilities - from pub amateurs to league teams, county players, international players, professionals and even world champions. ms, with few restrictions and no involvement with any pool associations or tiresome pool politics. We welcome all players and totally condone the banning of players based on the events they attend! The Norbreck Castle arguably provides one the best playing arenas in the UK – and Blackpool is certainly a hot favourite location for players, with plenty of alternative entertainment options when not playing pool. We will be installing 42 Sam Atlantic tables, all covered in the fastest playing Hainsworth Precision cloth, and graced by the new Super Aramith Pro tournament edition balls, giving the ultimate playing experience. With an attractive prize fund of over £28,500, minimum 50 frames of pool per team and Blackpool attractions, players can make a real weekend of it! Important notice - changes to booking rooms.

As per contract it’s been agreed with the hotel that all bookings must be paid in full 6 weeks prior to each event. This has always been the case, but they have never enforced it.
Due to repeated teams dropping out in the last few weeks and no shows on the day, we feel this is the way forward.
When event rooms are fully paid, your rooms will already be allocated and your key card waiting for you. Queues will be significantly smaller, less time checking in, more time at the bar.
This process will help admin at team registration desk when you collect your wristbands.
Those who haven’t paid in full are usually the ones who don’t turn up or drop out closer to the date. When rooms are pre-paid, we have a better chance of those teams arriving since they have already invested.
Please note it’s your responsibility to call the hotel and pay your balance, they will not call you. If you’re struggling with this, contact me for advice.
Around 8 weeks before each event I will be sent a list of unpaid rooms so I can contact each team. At this point we will know who is attending and who won’t be, and we can pass the place on to those on the list.

Dates balances are due for G8B 2022, please make plans to collect funds and be ready to pay on time.

Please DM if you see any mistakes, it’s been a long time. Ignore the text in the blue header saying Pro/am it’s incorrect and I’m waiting for it to be changed.
